How do I clear all previous playlists?

I've been having trouble with the media player hanging when i try to play music for the first time. I think I finally realized it's because I had a ton of previous playlists that were taking forever to load before the music would start.

How can i clear out old playlists? is there a way i could erase them every time I shut down? it's a nice feature but I dont need it to save my playlists after I shut down - it just causes it to be slow when I want to boot up and play music right away.

not currently a way to have the application not remember your music... it will always remeber your last playlist, but all your older ones could be not loaded if you deleted the two ".dat" files, they both have the name playlist in them...

there is only three in the directory, so make sure NOT to delete main.dat...

I guess you could try a shutdown command from settings to run a ".bat" file to delete these two files, that might work...

try at your own risk to the stability of the app, or backup before you delete things...

is there a long term solution planned for this? If there's no way to clear playlists wont they just pile up indefinitely causing a bad user experience eventually?

they cap out at 10, you can't have more than that for this reason exactly...

or it's suppose too...

it was upon most request to make the application remeber the exact state it was in when it was closed, so hopefully the work around will work for your special case...

ok. FYI - mine was showing 12 the other day.

is that 10 limit hard coded anywhere? might be nice to put that in the .ini so an advanced user could set it to 0 or 1-10.

I will have to double check this... It might have been removed per request during some version...

I guess a setting in a config to not save any playlist information could be possible...

Are there any other users out there that would ever use this?

Yes David I would love this. Or possibly there already is a solution for my problem. When I have friends (or sometimes myself) and they search for a specific song and play it, it will add a playlist for that list of song. After we get done driving I will have 7 playlists.

Is there a way to just add a searched song to the list of songs currently playing?

just hit the plus sign "+" and then the check box... In RC5 it starts the music over, but this has been fixed in the upcoming 1.1 version... It just adds it to the bottom of the current playlist...

the batch file deleting oldplaylists.dat on shutdown works awesome. It only deletes the old playlists but doesn't delete the current playlist. Exactly what I wanted to do. Music loads super quick now without having to wait for CF to load all the last 10 playlists.
