can the whole embedding window thing be fixed? the simplest way i can think of to do it is:

1) have cf continuously look for the window til it finds it (i dont know if its doing this now or not), but this would not work if the splash screen for a program had the same window name. however, this could be averted if you could set cf to to look for the window name again if it disappears (like a splash screen)

2) the easier way would require a lil more input from the user, but basically allow the user to input a delay before cf should look for the window. that way if i know google earth takes 25 seconds to load on my pc, i can set that delay and cf will lock onto the proper window.

also are there any plans to have adjustable up/down controls with embedded apps like we have for the iguidance plugin? this is so we could get rid of the menu bar up top and status bar at the bottom for a cleaner look...

I will look to add a delay, that will be pretty easy and quick...

As for removing title bars like iGuidance plugin, you just need to make a quick plugin for the app you are trying to embed...

Then you will not have any embed issues, you can add buttons and actions, make it look just like you want...

Using the SDK like the iGuidance plugin is the method that should be used other external applications...

Perhaps someone can write a generic 'embedder' plugin? So people can use to embed any app, but using a predefined skin etc much like the iG plugin? Not sure if Im making sense...

I would suggest that it shouldn't be a plugin, that CF should have this functionality native.

I think David's close, it's just a matter of catching apps that have launchers with the same window name as the main. A user definable per-instance delay (so, the user can specify a separate delay for app "A" and "B") will be nice, but I think adding a bit of smarts of "oh crap, I lost the app... I'll hang out and look for it!" would be better.

Something's gone wrong with the master volume control - can't get it to do anything. The pre-amp volume keeps getting set to max every time Centrafuse is run.

After further testing with CDs and other media, I am getting more of the same old issues with the count. The other old issue is CDs with mp3s on them being recognized as a USB device/ They will auto load, play, add a count to the USB device, and if I leave that playlist, they are no longer accesable unless I click on the CD icon again, which reloads it all and adds another count to the USB cue. I forgot, but is preloading things like mp3 cd's going to be a future option to disable? I dont mind it loading CD info, as it otherwise appears as "track 1", but the mp3 data on cd's is already decently formatted and takes waaaay too long to load (esp if you have a ton of mp3s on DVD, as I do). I am not sure if you were going to be able to differentiate between the two, but that would be prefered if possible.

I have also noticed a lot of brief freezes and long pauses when doing misc things where a loading or dialog box pops up. I have a fairly fast machine and it is very frustrating waiting (sometimes 20 secs) to do anything else. Most of the time, canceling the action doesn't really help either, and I still end up waiting a while for it to close.

After driving around today I found another XM bug... not sure if its been seen or reported before.

If I open up XM and listen to a few stations, and then go back into the media section and leave it playing during hibernation, when I come back to XM after resuming there is no sound from XM. The media playing resumes just fine, but once I click over the XM, the XM sound never returns. It's as if the mute/unmute of the line-in got confused somehow.

If I simply leave it playing in the XM section and go in and out of hibernation, XM continues to work just fine once it's resumed.

It only happens if I go into hibernation while still in media mode after using XM.

I also verified that the incoming call dialog box doesnt appear the majority of the time, even though phonecontrol knows there is an incoming call (as it makes the audible notifiction "incoming call from xxxxx"). No answer/hang up dialog box appears though :-(

I fixed the XM hibernation issue while in Media...

The HD/CD/USB count issue has been fixed...

I will look into the preloading after this upcoming release...

Any word on when you're looking to release the fixes? My truck's been really quiet, I'm starting to hate the sound of my wheel bearings.
