Radio presets issue

Would it not make more sense to have all the FM/AM presets listed as if they were MP3's in a playlist instead of having fixed numbered buttons?

I only just got working FM radio hardware so not tested before, but I'm finding that I don't know where any of the stations are

Icons would be better, but at least a list would make it easier to identify the choice available without having to scan everytime.

Also, is there anyway to implement tuning sensitivity (local/dx), and AutoFrequency where it will hunt the strongest frequency for a particular station rather than just staying at the first one it hits. This also helps when driving long distance as inevitably a stations frequency will change depending on where you receive it from.

BBC Radio 2 can be anything from 88MHz - 91MHz FM. Not just one particular frequency like say Centurey 105.40MHz FM exactly. Having to manually search is a pain when nearly all headunits these days do it for you

I will look into AutoFreq as soon as I can for radios that support it...

As for presets, not sure what you mean...

You should be able to set all the presets after you tune to a station by holding down on the preset for a few seconds...

you can also get another list of presets by clicking the FM button again to toggle between multiple preset lists, this was made to work just like a car radio...

What I meant is that the preset buttons are labelled 1-10 on each of the 3 screens, instead of 1-30.

And also as they only display a number on the preset button it makes it impossible to see which station is stored in each preset location so makes scanning all the stations a necessity, which takes quite a while to complete

Could it not be made like Satellite radio where each button shows a logo/icon relevant to the stored station, these can be manually downloaded and cached by users which are bothered.

Two views would be nice, a list view, and a logo'd button view.

Only IMO ofcourse

it could be done... I will look into improving the interface and skin for an update...

This would be a great idea. When you set your preset on RR (Dfx), it asks you to label it and makes a list which does not mimic stereo presets like CF does...

That would be a tough call as to which I would prefer...

Its not a car radio though is it? Its the next generation... A carPC! And its supposed to look modern and cool, not be mimicking old technology

I could never understand all those skinner guys who make skins look like a headunit

Why waste screenspace, details which aren't necessary and don't function like volume knobs

or fancy 3D borders

If it serves no function, or does not provide you with information, why have it there?

Its like having a 32" LCD TV showing and image of a 21" CRT TV in the middle of the screen, with your TV picture within that...

Its a computer interface at the end of the day! And should look like one IMO. I didn't spend all this time and money so I could make it look like something everyone else in the world can just go out and buy on the high street
