CF 1.2 does not open com port for GPS??

I'm still having trouble with CF since the 1.14 update (worked in versions from 1.13 and earlier)

I'm not getting an error log. Set the com port to port 3 and the correct baud setting (something around 4200??... don't remember, it works in the Haicom GPS viewer)

My test scenario:

1. Restart windows, don't start CF (make shure noting else uses the com port)
2. Start a haicom viewer and set it to com1, com2 -> no gps data
3. Set haicom viewer to com3 -> gps data!.. okay we've got the correct port
4. Star another haicom viewer and set it to com3 -> cannot open com port -> good!, the fist one is acutally using the com port

5. Close haicom viewer, start CF, (cf already set to com 3 and correct baud), start destinator from cf
6. Minimize CF, start haicom viewer,, we should now get a message that it cannot open com3, right?... cause cf uses it,,, wrong.. it start okay.. and gets GPS data

This tells me that CF does not open the serial port at all... and it's not strange that I don't get any gps data in destinator.

I've uninstalled 1.14, deleted the entire fluxmedia folder and installed 1.2. (not activated, just a trial)

Any Ideas?

are you running NMEA mode? Try setting to 9600 baud...

Go to the Centrafuse install folder and open the file Destinator.ini in a text editor... Towards the bottom you will see COM1 or whatever your COM port is set too... Make sure this is saying COM3...

Try changing to COM1 and then back to COM3

note: You most likely need to open the file Destinator.ini in a HEX editor such as Ultraedit though, you can email it to support and I will look at it...

9600 doesn't work in the test prog for my gps, so sticking to 4800 (tested 9600 also... no difference)

Opened destinator.ini with ultraedit... it actually said com2 not 3 there... set it to com3 in ultraedit and started cf. Still no data, and could still open the com3 with the haicom gps viewer... so don't think it tries using the com port at all. Sending you the files at support_at_fluxmedia.net

Once in a while, CF stops reading my gps.

I usually fix it by restarting centrafuse, several times. Didn't happen in versions before 1.14

Seems like mine never tries opening the com port....

Is there any way to turn on debugging / status in destinator to see gps status info?

The GPS code should be back to the exact way it was in 1.13...

Do you have another GPS receiver just to test?

Sorry.. I don't, but going to try xport now... and some other gps tools to check that my gps data is beeing recieved correctly.

I'll be back in an hour or so with updates

This is the strangest thing. I copied xport3 over on the carputer and told it to use com3 at 4800 baud, made a virtual com port at com4 and started the service.
Xport displayed the gps data at once.. so went in CF and configured com4 at 4800 baud... and wow!... it works!!!!!!!

But.. why?.. the only thing i did was making a virtual serial port of the original one.. Must be something with the way CF handles the serial port...

The issue is sort of resolved for me now.... Don't really need xport.. but okay

If I can be of any help trying to figure out this... (I mean.. it should have work just off the serial port as well).. just send me a PM or reply to this post. (I'm used to some debugging, but don't have VS installed on my carputer)
