OH MY GOD.
so TODAY I finally got my carputer installed, and while I was trying to simulate being at night (to test GammaControl auto dimming) I changed the clock 12 hours forward.
Centrafuse thinks it has now expired, and I have found no way to fix this. I WANT TO DIE DAMMIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I feel your pain, have been without centrafuse for weeks now.
this will not be a problem in the final release... it is only a problem with the Beta's because they have a trial within a trial... no way to fix it without compromising the entire licensing system...

Are you seriously saying people in this situation will not be able to try Centrafuse until a final release is out? OMFG!
All this because we changed the clock a few hours forward? Not a real good design IMHO :(
Also, don't kid us. You know there is a way to fix this, right? I mean, whether it's a hidden file, or a registry entry or whatever... there is always a way. Surely formatting my HD and re-installing will make it work... just don't feel like doing that because I have all of the OS configured for CarPC (months of work).
Most frustrating day ever... first day with CarPC installed, last day with CF. Going to sleep.

It's not my intent to lock anyone out of Beta testing... this is just a side effect... Part of the Beta testing is for me to also test the commercial licensing system... I can probably build an lic file for you guys that will fix this problem and open the Beta's back up... let me look into it...

what I'm doing for my new system is using VMware to make my install image. then just saving that.. and when somehting goofy happens I'll just pop it back in.. or restore back to this image..
I hope this isn't a "work around" but more of a "cover your butt around". this allows you to make changes easily

This afternoon I remembered that I had created an image of the HD using Acronis TrueImage (Best imaging utility ever, IMHO!). I had been maintaining this image because of the OS, not because of the apps themselves. FOrtunately, CF was installed on this imaged drive, so after restoring it everything went back to normal. I lost a few hours worth of OS tweaking etc, so I am spending some time bringing everything back to its original state.
Dave: sorry for my burst of frustration. I'm sure you understand how I felt after finally installing my Carputer and LCD screen in the car today, and only getting to use it for 20 mins before the whole CF / Expiration issue.
not a problem... I could see that being very frustrating... again it isn't my intent to try to lock anyone out... I think the creation of an lic file for people with this problem will work... I will try to make one first part of next week...Quote:
