I fixed my error by not installing a few codecs that I normally install.

All you need to install is a good DVD (mpeg2) codec such as PowerDVD with hardware acceleration enabled, FFDShow, and AC3Filter...

this is all I install and I can playback all files...

Quicktime alternative also if you have quicktime files...

The Media Library has some build issues. Some of my albums appear with no album art and when i click to view the tracklisting there are no tracks listed either.

I can confirm that both a Folder.jpg file and the tracks are present in each of the folders that encounter the error.

I have a problem when playing mp3's... had the same problem in 1.5 ...

sometimes when I reach the end of an mp3 it doesn't advance to the next one, it just sits there with the ending time of the mp3 displayed & I have to click to get it to play another mp3.... I haven't seen anyone else mention an issue like this, could it be a problem with my mp3's?... never had an issue in any other player with my same collection..

I will add to this, because I have had extensive experience with this bug. Here's what I've noticed:

The problem can be more easily reproduced, when you switch back and forth between media and another section of CF.

So, for example, I noticed that many times when I switch from Media window to Navi (in the middle of a song), then it will halt at the end of that song when it's done. It's almost reproducible in my experience.

It does not happen if you stay on the Media Player window, song after song.

see, now I thought it does still do it when I stay on the media player too. but I've been doing so much poking around that maybe it is only when I click on something else... I'll watch this closer....

another thing I noticed with the full screen visuals problem with embeded video boards is that the problem seems to be caused not by the vis itself, but from the little pop over window that displays the track info..... that is what seems to be locking up....... if I open another window over it while in the full screen with visuals, then close the window that I had over it, that part of the screen doesn't refresh, & it still shows as a crop of whatever I had over it, if you know what I mean...... that's the problem I think...., not the vis itself...

I have isolated the album characteristic that generates the "Playlist is Empty" message when trying to play albums. The message is generated for any album that contains an apostrophe (') in it's title. For example, "A Hard Day's Night" and "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band." For some reason, the library build doesn't include songs from albums whose title includes an apostrophe. The artwork for those albums shows up okay, but no songs.

Now if I can just figure out what's causing some of the artwork not to show up.

Not a bug, but rather a request. A very minor one, low priority.

Could we have back the 1.5 feature where you could define a 'border' image to surround the album art?

Since the skin is mainly black background, a lot of the albums which are black/dark blend in with the background. I'd like to be able to put a white border (I think 1.5 had a drop shadow).

Would be nice to have back the ability to save the screensaver states independently between Fullscreen and regular mode. 1.5 did this very well. You could have the FS set as screensaver, and the regular screen set as album.

For quite a few songs I see the artist name listed twice in the media player..

For instance an entry in the playlist listbox is:

ArtistName - SongTitle ArtistName

This appears on songs currently in the queue, songs in my lib, and songs on a playlist. Need to investigate more but these songs did not appear this way in 1.5
