Im at work right now and shouldn't really be on here and so haven't got time to search now but was wondering is there a bug status thread anywhere detailling which bugs are known, which have workarounds, and which need an update... Might save people keep repeatedly posting same bugs up in different places?

    Just a thought David...

BTW - I really love how CF1.6 is pretty much fully skinned. Its miles more stable than any other versions I've tried and you very rarely need to visit windows.. Great program! Keep up all the good work

@David, Any news on getting album art off the playlist?
You may be on to something here.

The movies are stored on a USB Hard Drive.

Is CF automatically attempting to scan and play the USB HD contents (movies)?

If so, how does one disable this?

Sorry, if this isn't a bug and simply ignorance on my part.

    Best to all...

you can test it if you try keeping the drive powered through the cycle.... & see if it still happens.......

I'm assuming you ment my sugestion?

I believe I understand why this is happening now (please let me know if another thread should be made on this).

CF is treating my (permanently attached) USB hard drive has a USB drive that has just recently been plugged in when resuming from hibernation.

CF then does as it is supposed to, and assumes you wish to immediately access the media on that USB drive.

The trouble is, that this USB drive, as I mentioned, is always connected (although it is powered separately from the PC), so this behavior shouldn't be happening.

I could probably work around it manually (ie only plugging up the usb HD when we need to watch a movie), but I would rather have a more elegant solution, of course, since this used to work fine in the past.

    Any ideas?

I will look into it... It shouldn't be sending a new drive inserted message to the window on resume from hibernation...

the usb power should come up first, but some drive controllers are real slow in being ready.... your solution could be as simple as using a different usb enclosure for the drive.......

    Thanks TC and David,

I may explore using a different enclosure or experimenting with usb's separate power.

Thanks for looking into the matter David.

I have a theory, that it may be due to the fact that the usb drive is self-powered and the PC is a laptop.

The laptop self-hibernates after a brief period of time off-AC. The USB drive cuts off when the car turns off.

Thus, the laptop may be seeing the USB drive as "reconnecting" since it was "disconnected" (no power) when the laptop last hibernated.

    Might this be true?

If so, can CF perhaps delay or ignore USB connections for the first say 30 seconds after resuming from hibernation?

That would seem to alleviate the problem.

    Thanks again,

    -Paul

I have the same issue with my IDE hard drive that is not connected with USB. But it just doesn't let me add favs off it even though it is directly connected with a IDE cable. hmm ?

    Sound quality issues

I'm noticing a few problems with the sound quality, possibly related to normalisation. I don't think CF likes old-school Prodigy

Even with a completely flat EQ and default settings I notice clipping on some tracks, most notably a minute of so into Weather Experience. I know this track does not have clipping as I have tried it in XMMS and it's fine (I also remember ripping it myself)

Normalisation still seems to be changing the volume mid-song again this is very noticeable on a lot of Prodigy tracks as they like to bring the bass drums in a few bars after the melody line as started playing, at which point the volume of the melody drops by an awful lot.

Oh and actually going to the media screen still mutes the audio.

I don't use CF normalization because the mothod implemented by CF causes the volume to vary WITHIN a song. (which really doesn't make a lot of sense to me!).

I would like to see a better method in the future: one that normalizes ONE COMPLETE SONG volume, (up or down) to better match a theoretical 'ideal' volume. I really love the idea of having normalization in CFm but current implementation doesn't cut it -- it gets really annoying after a while.
