    static menu buttons in 1.6

O.K., I know I know david said the menu couldn't stay open, not an option....

then I know I read in one thread where after thinking about it he thought it should work if a skin was built that kept the main buttons visable....

I just built a skin with the main buttons always exposed & it works in a sense that I can click any button & jump to whatever else at any time, BUT there is one problem......

whenever the button is pressed that toggles the buttons between the three sets it then looses focus of whatever is opened.... it disapears....

I'm not to sure if you done this or tested it yourself david, so I just thought I'd share this with you.... I'm sure your aware of how many would love this option available in your program, and the huge possibilitys it will open for skinning centrafuse...

hope this helps.... since I have the skin built already if you have any suggestions of trying anything let me know, but I'm guessing it's in the program itself that the issue lies.....

I will look into it... Again this was something I didn't even think about until someone realized it was possible...

So you are saying when you hit the paging buttons that you now made static fromt he main page section, for example on the left or wherever, the current section disappears and the main page is displayed again?

yes, whenever the left or right button to toggle through the 3 different sets is pressed, whatever is open goes away.... otherwise it works perfect.... actually I didn't try left(back).. as I only used one button to toggle through instead of foward & back.... but I think it would be the same.... I also made sure that there was nothing from the main page that was undernieth the opened dialouge forcing it to show.... if that makes a difference...

o.k., another thing that may be informative....

in developing my skin I have a large screen, so I am able to display any window in just a portion of the screen.....

well I have set up my skin so the media manager opens in the top portion of my skin...... when my media screen is open the top portion of my skin is the visual, but the media manger opens over the visual, & leaves my playlist visable below.....

now if I hit any of the main button toggles the media screen with playlist disapears, we've already established that.... but the media manager stays intact.... in fact it stays intact no matter what..... if I open a webpage over it, then close the webpage the media manager will still be there.... the only way to close it is to click the x in the mediamanager screen...

I have'nt tested other screens yet, but I'm thinking maybe if the other screens were coded like the media manager screen, we may then be able to have static buttons.... could it work if each screen had it's own little x or close button?...

I know nothing about coding or programming, so I don't know if this is even helpfull info., but I'm going to try another screen that has it's own close button, the settings screen & see how that react's... I'll let you know,.... if you think this kind of info. may be helpful even?.....

Try out the plugins, like Weather and see what happens...

Also try it with the mixer...

O.K., I just tried the mixer.... it disapears.... plugins same thing, tried weather, web, radio & xm.... they all act the same, & go away when the buttons are toggled....

so far the only 2 screens that act any different are the settings screen which locks everything else out, & the mediamanager, as I've already discribed.....

I thought I might be onto something.... maybe not?

if theres anything else I can check for you let me know....
