    Sticky Button Issue

I am trying to get to the bottom of this "sticky" button issue. I can confirm that the paging button on list views does stick and scroll to the bottom in single click mode...

I am unable to reproduce the "sticky" button on the volume controls or the next track button...

I have tried on 5 different hardware setups and can't reproduce, 2 dell laptops, Intel 800mhz desktop, and 2 M10000 CarPC's...

Is this happening to everyone or just a few people? If so I need helping figuring out which setting is getting enabled to make this happen, make the copy of a config.xml file from a user that is having the problem...

Hi david, its happenend on 5 of my m10Ks, all comps in the office (P4, Celeron & laptop), as well as my home comp (AMD). It happenes when you use a mouse as well so i figured it wasn't anything to do with the touchsreen settings. I'll investigate further and send you the config.xml. Would it be anything to do with the single click feature? ( i don't have it turned on though)

What all buttons stick, all of them or just the volume and next track button?

I have already fixed the sticky button on the page down on listviews, this was a bug...

I can't seem to reproduce it anywhere else... weird... It has to be one of the settings, but it's not single click, I have tested this...

I will find it, but it will be easier if I can make my machines start doing it...

The config.xml should let me know all your settings...

I think I might have this solved, still testing... I'm not sure what caused it, but I had to add some extra checks to ensure the timers/threads stopped...

It was an issue with all buttons that can be held down to continue their function such as volup/voldown/rewind(previous)/fastforward(next)/pagedown/pageup...

I was finally able to reproduce this issue...

That's very good news, i think this bug makes CF nearly unsuable. I don't generally use the on screen volume controls (got a powermate) but i tried it today to see if the bug affects it and it did. It turned the volume down to 0. and the button was stuck. I couldn't raise the volume again, even with the power mate. I would hear something for a split second and the volume would go to min again. Can i have a update as soon as you fix this david, i'm demoing system to clients this week and would love to have this fixed.

In RC2 I also noticed that single click had a bug when paging down/up... when you were on 1/6 and wanted to go on 2/6, you click once Down and it automatically scrolled down to 6/6. After that I disabled Single click and everything was ok with scrolling. But I noticed another problem even when Single Click disabled..
When I click (touchscreen) next track button (single click disabled) it looks like CF holds the button, because it goes fastforward till the end of the track. But not always, only sometimes. I am using Powermate to select next/previous track and it works ok with it, but when I touch the button with touchscreen, the problem sometimes appears.
I am using Epia SP 1.3 with Xenarc 1020TSV and Windows XP.

    Regards!

I believe so... I have solved it on two computers... I need to run more tests tonight and I will know for sure...

I had trouble reproducing it, but I was finally able to reproduce it by simulating very very fast double clicks. I now only activate a button if there is one click, double click is ignorned...

The list view paging problem was a clear bug that I found and fixed...

I didn't clicked any buttons very quick and I didn't also stress-testing any of them but:

I am also suffering under *blank* button issue ...
(so I don't think it is a speed issue)
and I also have this problem on my testsystem under Vmware - so if you want to have that vmware - it is a clean Windows2000 SP4 (german-sorry - but I also once had to use a spanish windows - it worked ).
It should be around 600-1200MB ...

<edit> crap I confused that with this topic: Big Problem with CF 1.7 <>

i was hoping that this issue was getting addressed. I have noticed that the sticky button issue for me only seems to affect the bottom controls and happens every time when i'm in an external application (iGmod embedded). i have seen it rarely when i don't have an external app launched but it is consistent when i'm in the external app. Every time i forget and try to turn the volume down a little or skip to the next track, i end up with my volume at zero or my song fast forwarding through. i can send you config.xml if you'd like, i am running on a Dell D600 laptop. I think the bug will be easy to reproduce if you have an external app to embed. also i am not pressing any buttons quickly, just a single press even on the night dimmer button and you can see that it sticks.
