Right David if I type in the search box NG13 the list shows NG16 yet if I scroll up the list I then see the missing postcodes but if I enter a postcode which was "missing" it doesnt select it. This could be happening with more postcodes than mine. It defeats the object of entering an exact postcode to have to scroll up and down the list to find it.

    Map info

    UK_Ireland:

    UK and the Irish republic
Version 2006.Q1.4156 - map of Navteq. HLG 3, LSD, Toll roads, RDS TMC, WES2, FAS, Long post codes. Mp122. D01. Signed map

Also I cant tell you exactly what postcodes are missing as I dont know them all lol

Also another note. I have tested this in my car and speed is still incorrect I was doing 30mph yet cf was showing 1mph and never changed. Also 3d view is still slow.

So the postcodes are not missing from the map, but the search is just not working right? If you can verify this, then I have been looking for the problem in the completly wrong place...

note: If the keyboard searching wasn't working and you had the right postcode typed in the label, but it was not selected, it would not work... When you hit next,go,preview I read everything from the list view... the keyboard is just to get you close in the list, then you have to select it... If it's just an issue with the keyboard scrolling through the list, then that will be a lot easier to fix than a navigation engine issue... Let me know if the zips are in the list...

I will check on the speed issue...

Hi David I have verified this on my desktop and carpc. I think its the keyboard scolling. I entered my postcode exactly how it shows in the list and it pointed to the wrong location. Would it be easier if you had a copy of the maps I use?

no, just as long as if you just use the list, not the keyboard, the zip codes show up... Then I know it's with my searching and the keyboard which I can fix...

I would have had it fixed in RC3, but I thought it was a Destinator problem... I can fix this easily if that is the issue...

we just had some miscommunication on the bug... I thought they just were not in the list at all... The searching issue I can fix... Your selection is not based on what is typed in, but what is selected in the list... This is why if the search doesn't highlight the right item, it appears broken... But if you then just scroll up/down and find the right zip code and it works... Then this is easily fixable...

Thanks David but scrolling up and down when you can easily have thousands of postcodes in the search is not very appealing.

Hey David... There are issues, some old, some new (or ones I've just noticed).

    • Old Issues
      • Channel changes in XM are still unacceptably slow. I'm seeing 9 seconds from "click" to an audio update.

      • The double audio (pre/post processing) is still happening for XM. Here's how to make it happen:
        • XM audio feed is on Mic
        • Mixer: WAV Level = 0
        • Play XM, all is well
        • Move to "Media"
        • Select Artist/Album/Track, start playback
        • Note no audio from track, but XM is still playing
        • Go back to Mixer, turn up WAV level, Media can now be heard (as well as XM)
        • Go back to Media. Hit PAUSE. Can now only hear XM.
        • Go to XM
        • "Doubled" playback happens.
        • Back to Mixer, turn down WAV, XM now single playback

      • With "Sat Radio" set as startup location, CF will switch to XM display on startup, but will not play audio until channel is reselected.

      • XM display will sometimes become "confused" and display things such as "46 - Squeeze - Top Tracks - Yes - Long Distance Runaround". "Squeeze" is actually an artist name from a different channel. This field should be {Station Name}.

      • MUST HAVE OPTION TO NOT SCAN USB MEDIA
Man this is annoying. If I plug in my USB thumb while CF is running, it spends a LOT of time searching it for music that isn't there. If I plug in my MP3 player, it spends a lot of time searching for music that _IS_ there, but I don't care to have CF import it. I have my media player configured as a music path, the tracks are laid out such that I can navigate them on my own. PLEASE STOP SEARCHING USB DRIVES.

    • New Issues
      • When setting Startup Command, we need a way to launch the app minimized.

      • When a button is clicked that's tied to a user application, you should look for the window title before actually launching the app. This will enable "Startup" apps to be configured so as to pre-load them for configured buttons. As it is now, if I configure an app ("xyz") as a startup command, CF launches it "normal screen". Then when I click the "xyz" button, it will launch a second instance of XYZ and try to skin that.

      • Selecting "Refresh channel list" from Sat Radio Setup removed all of the channels that CF had previously found. Leaving it sit for 5 minutes didn't replace them.

      • During setup, after answering "Yes" to "Do you want to configure additional options", selecting General/Startup Commands produces no response. The button shading turns blue, but nothing happens.

      • An additional effect of having done the above is that SAVE and CANCEL no longer works. I had to use TaskManager to force quit CF and re-launch. Side Note: When I got to CF in TaskManager, CF was sucking 78% CPU.

    You're getting closer - kinda'.

Look through settings... there is an option to no longer scan USB media...

I know about all the other issues, again they are already posted on the known issues thread...

I wrote down your new issues....

I was saying this was not a solution, but lets me know where to fix the problem... I always thought you were saying they were not in the list at all...

I will get the search fixed now that I know that's the issue...

Are you talking about "Folder Tag Reading"? If so, I had found that and it makes no difference if it's OFF or ON.

Ummm, not all of them were. We had talked before about "Double Audio", but it's not on the list. "Sat Radio as Startup" isn't there, neither is "XM Display Confusion".

I wrote down your new issues....
    Thanks.

and fwiw, the "Hang on resume with 'LOADING' showing" is still there. Yes, it's on your list but you had previously told me that you couldn't repro it, but you made changes to the code, and would look at it if it was still in RC3. So, I'm letting you know it's still in RC3.

Can you tell me what CF is "loading"? It may help me in helping you find out what's going on.

I thought they weren't in the list David as I thought entering the postcode whould show you it in the list. Also another bug I have found is that when using my bluetooth DUN connection it hangs at the screen saying "Connected" if I click on cancel nothing happens, its at this point I need to reboot. I have confirmed that the connection works in windows. I decided to see what happens when I turn the status window off and it connects ok but the red indicator turns green briefly then back to red, while its showing red my connection still works. Also David any ideas why when using 3d view its slow to update. If I pass a road it shows instantly in 2d but in 3d its a good >5secs behind. And lastly I think you should enable it so that when the skin changes it also changes the destinator skin, eg when night speed is on destinators skin is also in the night skin and vice versa.
