I can confirm that the WEATHER plugin does not update when in background. You still need to bring it forward to trigger an update of the data.
Maybe this issue is present only with hibernation? I resume from hibernate every morning, and there is active link to my wifi network upon resume (confirmed, as I can sync my data and do otehr stuff). But if I drive off and check the weather later on, it shows old data, i.e., it has not updated in background.
I'm sure I'm waiting at least 3-4 minutes. I say this because I always have to put the kid in the back seat, strap her, etc. I have the car ON all the time while I do this so it warms up in winter....
How often does the timer check? If you put a check on resume from hibernation that will probably work.
HOWEVER, keep in mind there is another bug that I have reported that seems unfixed: Everytime I resume, CF *thinks* there is a connection, even if there is not one. It *always* turns that little connection icon on, for about 25 seconds, and then it turns it off (if there is trully no internet connection), or leaves it on (if there trully is one). Maybe this will conflict with what you are about to do...?
still got the problem of not being able to remove voice prompts from GPS. Have tried looking in config.xml to see if setting are saved and they are saved as false wich should be ok. If i rename the voice folder i get a beep noise instead. When i have music on in the background the prompts just play under it and dont pause music. Does anyone have a solution? or is anyone else still getting the same problem. This is on a fresh reinstall with 4.4 installed.
When I receive a SMS on my phone (which is unread because I still don't have read it), CF (or PHOCO) doesn't know i have receive it until I read it on my phone :
I receive a SMS
I don't read it on my phone but I want to read it on my PCCAR with CF
I hit refresh button...Nothing....
But if I read the SMS on my phone (it became as "read") and hit refresh button in CF, the SMS appears on CF.
David, I've still got the problem with crashing CF when I have WiFi enabled. CF occasionally (well, quite regularly, to be honest) crashes with the 'check your setup' dialog with nothing in the error.log. Some people have reported this also a couple of releases ago, but no change in this area. If I disconnect the WLAN dongle, everything works without a glitch. I've disabled all plugins (simply renamed the plugins folder), disabled PhoCo, no difference. Also there's no visuals there anymode (also folder renamed), etc.
And, btw, that ID3 reading problems, I've seen with 4.4 that it messes up *a lot* (I'm getting tons of bricks instead of the name of the track). If I turn off folder tag reading, everything's much better.
this is a really little bug, i even thought about not posting it...
a few times when i was messing with the sliders in the mixer, the front, rear, and sub sliders vanished after moving the pre one. i want to say that a pop up window appeared at the same time but i cannot remember. maybe the wifi notification one. they come back if you just move the pre again though, so not a huge deal.
couple more(more important)...
1. if you go straight from changing the volume immediately to holding down the "next" button to scan the song, it messes up the playback. sort of like the sticky button issue, it continues to fast forward. you can stop it though, and cf is still functional. getting out of media and going back in the songs will play correctly, but the song timer was acting all screwy, jumping all over the place.
2. lately cf has been crashing on me. says something about setup resources and then just exits. ill try to get an error report for you.
This bug has affected me several times since becoming a heavy Centrafuse user. After turning up/down the volume, the volume level dialog box does not close. About 30 seconds later a dialog box appears with the message "failed to load resources from resource file, please check setup." You click the ok on this dialog box and Centrafuse shuts down. You then have to reload Centrafuse.
It has happened at least three times in the last week.
Other than that, this has been the best release so far.....
Thanks in advance,
The volume does work when this is occurring, and the bars increase and decrease. However, once the error message comes up it stops responding.
