Yeup, I know... but CF _does_ open the port, I know this from the monitor program. It hooks into Windows in front of the serial driver to it can log all I/O. It shows a nice clear indicator that CF owns COM port 1.
"Port opened by Centrafuse.exe, PID = 1568"
hopefully after my first updater test we can track down the remaining few XM issues...

You're trying too hard.
You actually _DO_ need to modify the shortcut that CF is being launched from, or if you're not using a shortcut, you need to create one.
So...- Create a shortcut to CF
- Right click, Properties
- At the end of the "Target" field, add " -nolimit -nowarning" (make sure you have the leading space)
- Click OK
- Drop the shortcut into your STARTUP folder
- You should be set to go
