    yes you can still use iGuidance... I actually posted a plugin on the downloads page just today...

    http://www.fluxmedia.net/downloads

    Just make sure you set the integrated navigation to another COM port than the one iGuidance will be using, the None is not working properly...

    Or use XPort...

    check to see if after you exit if your settings.xml file in the System folder is getting written too... Is there an error.log file?

    This file should be updated everytime you exit with all the position, etc... I cannot reproduce making it not work unless I pull the power from the machine, then it doesn't update...

    It has to be sent the proper shutdown command so my Form close can catch it and write to the file...

    I'll see how the morning resume works out in a bit here, and then I'll try the COM port swap, not loading XM and a hibernate cycle.
    Okay.. the results are inconclusive.

    My first resume-from-hibernate this morning worked fine, this was with XM running. I reconfigured Destinator such that it will steal the XM port, then reloaded CF, verified that XM wouldn't load, then reloaded CF and didn't touch XM at all.

    I then did a hibernate/resume cycle and it came up fine.

    But like I said, that's inconclusive since I had already seen two resumes that went fine with XM still loading.

    so the error screen from RC5 with resume with XM went away? Did you have to disable audio buffering? If so if you turn it on does the error come back?

    not sure about the blank out screen, I have never seen this and I run it in multiple cars and test units, but that is normal of course when writing software

    Oh, we got our wires crossed. I'm talking about the black screen issue, the Error Screen ("Setup Error/Failed to load resources...") after resume is still there when XM is active.

    I did _not_ see the error screen when I had XM disabled trough the Destinator COM port issue, but I only came back from hibernate once in that case.

    Yeup. And it's why you love us so much for giving you all this feedback.

    On a curious tangent... What version got installed for the Unique Whips episode?

    Unique Whips show, not sure most likely RC4 at that point... It was built some time ago...

    The car will be updated at some point most likely since it will travel to shows... It was at SEMA as well this past year...

    Regarding the "Weird Setup Screen and subsequent crash after resume from hibernate" issue... I wonder if it has anything to do with whatever you're "Loading" after resume?

    I've always been curious about that, since the whole concept of the hibernate process in Windows is to bring the machine back to exactly where it was.

    If that's working in Windows' core, then... what are you "Loading"?

    I have to shutdown all connections to radio/XM devices on hibernate/standby and then when the machine resumes, it re-init's the devices...

    This is because when the XMPCR and XMDirect lose power, they have to be reinit or they will not work...

    It appears the dialog you are getting is coming only from XM, I have some ideas...

    Once I fix about 10 more smaller bugs I plan to test the updater... Once it's verified I will send you some debug centrafuse.exe files to try to track the issue down...

    first taking everything out of standby/hibernate and seeing if it doesn't crash, also modifying a nasty goto line I have in my logic in XM that might be causing a stack overflow, which will cause that screen, but only on some systems...

    if you google that error many people have issues with that error happening on some machines and not on others and have a hard time tracking it down...

    Possible weather bug

    After about 10 minutes i get an error saying "Failed to load resources from resource file. Please check you Setup." After i click ok it completely shuts down CF. This has only happened to me since the new release. I have about 7 instances of the same thing in my log file below.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
    3/9/2007 12:07:04 PM
    XmlLoader.Load(): Unexpected NodeType: None.
    at System.Xml.XmlLoader.LoadCurrentNode()
    at System.Xml.XmlLoader.LoadDocSequence(XmlDocument parentDoc)
    at System.Xml.XmlLoader.Load(XmlDocument doc, XmlReader reader, Boolean preserveWhitespace)
    at System.Xml.XmlDocument.Load(XmlReader reader)
    at System.Xml.XmlDocument.Load(String filename)
    at weather.weather.loadWeather()
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

    I have checked my weather setup and everything seem to be fine.

    If you quit CF using the exit button in the bottom right, then start it again, it remembers your position in the song, but not what song you were on, instead it goes to #1 in the playlist.

    I moved the weather downloading to a thread and I believe on some systems it is causing a stack overflow, therefore producing the error you see...

    It will be fixed in an upcoming very soon test of the updater...

    try removing the weather folder from plugins and see if you get the dialog again...
