I would like a plug-in that would automatically search for the cheapest gas rates in the local area. You know, my gps could give my exact location to a program which would then contact a website like www.cheapestgas.com or comething, find the cheapest gas in a 15 mile radius, and then contact mapquest to give me turn-by-turn directions there. Oh yeah, while we're in the fantasy world, how about a nice mute button for my fiance's mouth when she starts ranting about people she works with that I don't know and don't care about. Hey, I'm reaching for the stars!

LOL... I could use that second plug-in!

Edit: Hey, cheapestgas.com is just a scammers credit-card site. They don't post gas prices . Does anyone know a site where I could find the cheapest Chevron Supreme near me?

Dang, I was just throwing an idea of a website name out there, sorry didn't mean to post crap like that. I just looked up www.gasbuddy.com and that works. If somehow a program could be written to integrate a GPS signal to figure out where you are, contact www.gasbuddy.com and then give turn by turn directions to a gas station with the lowest prices, then that would rock! I think that I'm going to consult with some programming buddies of mine at our Air Force base where I am stationed and see if this is possible.

I want a program that uses wifi whenever it can find a network to download traffic reports off of a website like sigalert.com or something and displays them on the gps screen. Kind of like the new acuras have.

I thought of a great idea for a plug-in last night... I would like to be able to specify what time I need to reach my destination and have a plug in use GPS data to display the average MPH I must maintain to be on-time.

Another Plug-In request... store dates & mileage of oil changes and other services, then pop-up a reminder later. (would require OBD or GPS to automatically know the mileage)

David: We need a way for plug-ins to exchange GPS & OBD data without each plugin needing its own virtual serial port. Really there should be a GPS "driver" plugin that handles keeping the GPS happy (even after hibernate/resume), makes one or more virtual ports for a GPS Navigation apps, and allows other plug-ins to get GPS data through inter-plugin communication.
