    slider problem (mixer module)

i'm close to finish the changes on my skin to make it work with cf 1.3 and got a problem with the sliders.
the settings in the xml file semm to just set the clickable area of the sliders and not the size of the sliders themself so they are no longer centeres when i resize them (as seen in the screenshot). obviously cf centers the sliders based on the 57 px width they have in the blue ice official skin.
an option for the size of the sliders themself would be really nice.

and maybe an offset-option for the radio-station buttons and the setup dialog.

If that doesnt fix it, go to settings and change the reoslution to something else, save, change back to your original resolution and save.

I had a situation where the sliders where showing really BIG despite the smaller scaled resolution I had set, and when I switched back and forth it got fixed.

@veetid i know this setting but it seems to just change the area you can drag the slider not the size it is displayed.

@ justintime thanks for this hint, the sliders are sized correctly as soon as i set a resolution different from the skins native one but setting it back the sliders are wrong size again.

@delsolvti maybe i will offer it for download, don't know yet. i changed a few things (left out buttons i don't need to save space ect.) so it's not useable for everybody i think and there are some problems when it gets resized cause many buttons are exactly pixel-matched and so the down-state does not fit properly anymore.

i've found another problem, when you change the fontstyle settings for the file- or presets-browser mainpanel (e.g. regular instead of bold|italic) you get an .NET Framework error telling you the height of the mainpanel was 0 when opening the browser.
with some combination of font type and style a semitransparent background is shown behind the mainpanel, really strange behaviour.
this happens with the blue ice official skin and with my skin.
as long as the fontstyle remains bold|italic you can change everything (size, fontface, highlightcolor, ...) without any problems.

not sure whats the problem with the slider... If the resolution is the native then I simply load the slider image... I don't resize anything... Your slider should be the exact size in the file it needs to be for your skins native resolution... When you change resolutions I then resize accordingly...

need more details or an exact example of what you put in... If you have a FontName specified that supports FontStyle Regular it works fine.. You can use any FontStyle that your FontName supports... I cannot reproduce either error you described...

@david thanks for the hint with the font style, i just found out GE Drover only has the bold+italic style, this explains the .NET error so just the problem with the background remains.

i made two screenshots with the strange background, one with the blue ice skin and one with my skin. the background has about 25% transparency though you can't see this in my skin cause the area behind it is just black.
i changed the font to arial in the blue ice skin to avoid the .NET error when changing the font style.
with bold+italic the background is gone no matter wich skin or font face.

    Exclamation

    David,

I wanted to let you know I am also experiencing the SLIDER SIZE bug... Attached is a screenshot of my skin... all I did was change the coloring of the file, that's it.

When I display at native resolution, this is what I see. It only works correctly and scales the knobs when I choose something other than the native resolution. (I also tried the original skin to see what happened, and that one works fine no matter what).
