if you don't mind, i'd like to volunteer in helping you convert; it's not too hard to do w/ photoshop batch

I can do the xml updates as well.... hate to see the project die.

Well, we got to anxious with the skins... I think it's fair to say we should all hold-off any skin development until CF gets out of Beta stage....

I spent well over 5 hours creating Orange Heat. Most of the time was spent tweaking the XML files. I'm not about to go over it again!

none of your time was waisted... everything you did for the 1.3 skin still needed to be done... not really sure what the big deal is... Still use your current skin.xml file... Open my new skin.xml file and the release notes and simple update your current file... About an hours worth of work tops...

it took me about 30 minutes in photoshop to re-export my skin to png... not sure what the big deal is on that either...

I didn't make that many changes...

antimatter: not really sure what you mean... every single update to the skin is based on bug reports and feature enhancments from 1.3, all within the past week or so... Most of the changes I made within the last 4 days.. not really sure I could have given more heads up... sorry...

I clearly outlined every change I made and it only looked like about 2 hours of work to update a skin...

I didn't change any of the images and a re-export to another format shouldn't take very long if you still have your PSD's and they are somewhat organized... I added one button to a setup screen... So I guess people don't want to make the XML updates... How do most of you edit the skin.xml? If you are using a text editor then I do feel sorry for you... I use XMLSpy and it's advanced grid view... Makes my XML seem small... With a good XML program this is no work at all...

note: let me know if anything isn't clear about the updates... I know some of my descriptions in the release notes might not be completly clear... I'll help in any way I can....

and BTW... this brush metal implementation looks great...

To be clear, I am not complaining, or upset. I can't be more excited about CF, and the recent 1.4 update has me drooling

I have a PSD batch script that converts all PNGs to the 'Amber/Orange' coloring. It runs in ~ 30 secs

That's no big deal to me. It's the XML editing that is a pain. I know you make it sound simple David, but merging your new skin file, with my 'modified' skin file from 1.3, is not an easy task. I had numerous tweaks to just about every single text positioning... you see, when I changed my Font, all positioning had to change for some odd reason. Might be particular to the font I am using, but anyhow.

I will probably just release Orange Heat skin for 1.4, without the font changes.

I wasn't complaining... just trying to help out... I think not wanting to edit the XML might be because of the program everyone is using to edit the XML... If you had XMLspy and loaded up your current skin.xml... Then loaded up my new skin.xml... you could drag only the new missing elements into your current file and save... all your tweaks and positioning don't have to be changed... with a program like XMLspy you can grab and copy/paste at any level of the DOM... using their advanced grid view, this is a very simple task...
