Thanks Piyaca. It looks excellent. Not everyone (well not me) have a head unit or a griffin installed on the car to control the volume. Once again thanks for the fix. This skin is great, very polished and professional.

Updated skin to version Beta 2. Please redownload. Installing will automatically replace old version.

-Fixed label overlaps and truncation in Media player header when filecount is large.
-Some minor fixes to labels and font size.
-Made IE Browser Plugin fullscreen larger (eliminated URL field).
-Installer now installs the necessary Fonts in th system folder.

You had been asking for this skin for a few months. I knew you'd be surprised to see it released. Tell me how you like it after using it, and how it could be inproved please.

By the way, are people finding that the contrast is good enough in day time?

First, you are right; I was surprised to see the front-end skin released after you mentioned that you would not continue with the project. What I like from the application is that the looks of it are very OEM, which can be implemented in any car and will complement the car's interior and appearance. The only thing I did not like was the lack of volume control within the front end but piyaca made a temporary fix for it. The combination of colors, fonts, and functionality is in par with automotive OEM systems (I had spent a month testing, and comparing OEM in-car entertainment systems as part of a college project) Since I do not have adobe Photoshop I am very limited to do things I will like to see (Like a watermark in the background with the car logo) but in my opinion you have taken the front end skinning bar way up there. I had always being searching for an OEM looking front end, not too flashy but not to bland either. You provided the skin I was searching for. Keep up the good work! I will PM you with additional details.

I love this skin JIT, but you asked for improvments so here goes...

    1) In the main menu I would make the right-side Up/Down buttons just as tall as the other buttons.

    2) I would compleatly change the layout of the media manager.

    3) If it is possible to add a link from media to nav and visa-versa this would be awesome.

    4) I would like the list lines in the media-manager to be smaller in order to move from 6-lines to 10-lines. This will also make the text smaller and allow longer titles. When I am browsing music I see only the artist name with one or two characters from the song name quite often.

    5) I love your new click sound, but it is a bit too loud. I have been meaning to open it up and reduce its volume to about 70% of default but I keep forgetting. I'm not sure I love your connect/disconnect sound. It's ok though.

I was going to provide background watermarking in the main menu, using logo.png. However, the way David implemented this, the logo overlaps all the buttons.

If David can make the watermark (logo.png) always appear under the buttons, then we're in for a treat... I have a way of making this skin look beautifuk with an offset car logo watermark in the background.

    1) I just yesterday made the clickable areas extend above/below the buttons. Would this suffice? Or is itmore of an aesthetics thing?

    2) That would be a ton of work. Not likely, don't want to get your hopes up, ok?

    3) I spent quite sometime thinking about this. I found no way to do it (thought about countless workarounds and stupid tricks within the limitations of the skin format). Found no way of doing it. I think David will support Click-Hold for switching bewteen the last 2 apps...might work?

    4) Are you using the right font? Install the fonts! The one I use there is condensed, so it fits a lot of text!

    5) I will lower it. Re: connect sound, I did not add one... what sound is that?! When does it trigger?

    1) Ascetics, but I was really just looking through your screen-shots looking for comments to post, it's not at all bad as is, I just think it would look a little better with the buttons longer.

    4) I thought they were installed automatically via your installer. I think my interface matches your screen-shots. I will try manually installing them though.

    5) Connect sounds: When you plug in your cell phone and then double click the icon area of your title bar it makes a very strange sound. Kinda like a cross between your beep sound and a baloon deflating. I think it does the same thing when you insert a USB device also. I never heard it before I installed your skin (but I didn't really use RC1 much before that either). I believe it makes that sound in for any using device in windows even when not running CF now, but I am not sure.

    RPM:

I think the std list shows a lot of text. I really wish it would show more, but then the album art would have to be much smaller 9not good!) or the overall text smaller (worse).

I think that weird sound you are hearing is either standard CF functio ality, or standard Windows functio ality (mostr likely the later).

Try it with the stock CF skin and see what happens? I did not add any other wavs, except the clicksound wav.
