It's a little weak that you are all giving him a hard time. If you were losing money by letting someone pay with paypal you would want to make up the money also.

Dennis: Forgive me for being naive.. but as I read it these screens do 640x480, are they capable of running at higher resolution?

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I do not have a large enough profit margin to absorb a $10 or $12 charge for quick payment. If the buyer wants to send a quick payment to receive the kit faster, then the buyer should absorb the associated costs. A Postal Money Order and Overnight Delivery is about the same cost. Better yet, send payment via C2IT. That is instant and free of charges. My policy is that if the item is under $100, Paypal is accepted. For the few dollars, we both are in a win-win situation. I hope that everyone understands and even agrees with the philosophy. Thanks!!!

    Now, to answer your question...
You are correct on the resolution. 640 x 480 is the max resolution of the panel.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks!!!

Cost is now $285. If you pay cash or money order, take a 4% discount. Now I have complied. Thanks for the correction.

chill out man, give the guy a break.
at least he gives everyone the option to pay via paypal!!!
he could just say flat 285 cash or credit if he wanted.
but he is trying to give everyone there choice.

lots of places offer different prices whether cash or credit.. at least he stated this before someone tried to buy it.. i was at a computer show this weekend.. it worked the same way...

It's a violation of his user agreement and it's illegal in most states. PayPal is only convenient so long as it's in business - and if enough folks violate state law and PayPal's merchant service agreements with credit card companies it isn't going to stay in business...

Essex: you are very bold for someone who has never made another post except for this thread. If you want to get a better deal I suggest you creat it yourself. Do you expect someone to take a loss because he was being nice and brought you a great deal, then allowed you to pay by a method that cost him money?

You are been extremely rude and assuming, and I for one would greatly appreciate it if you would Come off it already.

    that being said...

Dennis: I looked around those sites for a touch screen controller and I didn't find anything.. maybe I missed it.. What am I looking for, and about how much does it cost. I'm seriously debating getting one of these screens.

His method of pricing is in no violation under any policy that I know of. It is not unusual for companies to charge 3% or so if you pay with a credit card.

$285 if you're paying by paypal is still a good price.
But if you're really concerned about saving your $11 send him a money order or pay by c2it (which is a far better service IMO).

And also, leave Dennis alone, many forum members have dealt with him having no trouble.

Actually he even cut and pasted the policy that he was violating. Is it still a good price? I suppose..Do companies charge 3% more when using a credit card..sure some do..I think most people feel if merchants are that upset about their 3% they lose they should either not accept credit cards or adjust their price accordingly. I think it is just frustrating for most people when you are using paypal and you have to pay your own fees for transfer and then pay someone else's fees as well. As already said, many people have done business with DennisK and have had nothing but good things to say, he has adjusted the price accordingly.

    Haha, I love that.

BTW, companies do one of the three:
    1) NO credit cards.
    2) Charge a transaction fee for using a credit card.
    3) Raise all prices to make-up the loss of accepting credit cards.

Dennis can charge for this fee. Its part of his overhead. I would have to say it would sound better for him to word it like above.

Edit: At work we charge a 20 cent check fee, it is legal. Remember companies/people do not have to accept checks, money orders, and credit cards. Cash is the only legal tender that must be accepted for all debts.
