FS: Xitel MD Port-AN1 ( USB Sound card )

    http://www.xitel.com/subset_MDPAN1.htm

I recently upgraded to an extigy and have no use for this soundcard anymore.

Drivers are already included in your windows 9x/XP install. It will be recognized as a USB Audio Device.

    $25 shipped

I am definately interested. One question though, what is the difference between the MD Port-AN1 and their Hi-fi Link product? The number/type of connections? Also, how would you like to get paid?

    TIA

is the AN-1 basically the same as the Hi-Fi Link model??

Looks the same to me except the Hi-Fi comes with 30' of cable.

If it's the same hardware i'll buy it.

My main concern is to get rid of the Hard Drive noise I get. This is not a grounding issue cuz I looked up several sources about onboard audio. Basically they suck!! They emmit every electronic sound in your computer ( HD spinning, read/writing).

Xitel says that their Hi-Fi Link blocks this noise so im curious.

    what you think alives?

I'm not sure... i emailed them and they wont offer any qualitative comparisons, but they do look similar.

I just got a response from Xitel and this is what they said ( sounds a lot like BS to me). What do you think?

    i Daniel,

They're different - they just use the same plastic case. The AN1 was
    only
ever designed to run a signal over a very short distance directly into
    an
MD recorder. This is a totally different scenario to driving a signal
    over
much longer distances into Line Level stereo equipment while
    maintaining
    full frequency response.

    Cheers,

    Xitel Support.
