i would be very interested in pictures and dimensions etc
Would anyone be interested in an embedded machine designed for a headrest for $400?
Specs:
Toshiba LTM10C306J 1024 x 768 @ 200 nit 10.4"
10.4" capacitive microtouch touch screen and controller
Celeron 400 or 366Mhz processor with BX chipset
64 meg (SODIMM, so upgradeable)
5 gig hitachi laptop HD
Built in BT879KHF TV tuner (think it might have FM too)
1 serial
1 usb
1 PS2 (keyboard or mouse)
Runs on 24 volt DC (I am using a 20 volt dell laptop supply to run mine)
Units are used, If I can get 10 people, I can get them for $500 each, if I can get 20 or more we can get them for $400.
The display on these things is bad a$$, very crisp and clear.
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED, EMAIL ME AT JPAINTER@COX.NET with KING in the subject line.
If enough people care, I will take some pics and post dimensions, etc.
PS. If we are going to do this, we are going to have to do it fast, the stuff is going to auction soon and won't be available. ALSO, being the middleman, I will power up the unit and make sure it comes on, that will be the extent of your warranty and customer support. If this thing goes through and you make a purchase and you are not savvy enough to get it working, put it on ebay, don't bother me![]()

what price on these things would start getting people interested? I might be able to do a little negotiating with the owner.

something with headrest and 10.4" makes me confused
It's also a 24V input.
24 volt input is good... Just use a nice lappy PS to bump up the voltage to 24 and you dont have to worry about voltage drops when the car starts. I tested mine on a variable power supply and it doesnt crash till the voltage gets down to about 16 volts.
The problem with 12v input in cars is that sometimes the voltage is above 12, sometimes at 12, sometimes below. I have a PS on my system that is good down to 11 volts on my EPIA. Every time I start the @%$#%^ car it crashes.

IF ANYONE BUYS THESE COMPUTERS, I HAVE 4 MOBILE POWER SUPPLIES AVAILABLE. THEY PROVIDE A CONSTANT 19.5 VOLTS. jpainter99 says these computers work down to 16 volts, so my 19.5 volt supplies would be perfect.

48.00 each shipped or 155.00 shipped for all 4.
you could clip the cigarette lighter plug and hard wire to your car's power if you wanted. I will clip and terminate the leads (read solder connectors the right way) both in and out for 7.00 each unit. these power supplies are new, were made for notebooks and retail for 129.99 each. I may be able to provide additional units if there is a need or want for them.
