Look, I'm not collecting money yet. I will not do so until Kris tells me it's time to ship.

What about the 70watt from Mini-Box?

    PW70 specs

Is this unit just too small or bad quality? Just wondering why I don't see anybody considering this.

My understanding, and please correct me if I am wrong... is that unit isn't regulated and does not have the "car cranking" option, not the shut down abilities as the Opus has. Althought I believe they are making a similar unit to the opus as well.

They have a 9-18 volt inverter for that PW-70. It is supposed to be coming out soon, it will also detect ignition and shut down the computer safely.

I've emailed them on this I haven't received any replies. Someone else from the forum said they told him that it was coming out soon, that's it.

It's hard to find on their website but if you find the FAQ page under their PW-60 model. You will see that at the bottom of the last Q/A. Their website is very unorganized.

When they come up with that converter then I think we should approach them about a group-buy. Because, as it stands the PW-70 will not support 3.5" hard drives in a vehicle environment and I think there were other issues mentioned in the forum.

I am interested in the group buy but just one question before I email skippman. Would the 90 watt be able to handle an EPIA 800 mhz, desktop hard drive, and dvd drive?

It should handle it, most of us have the same setup. Do you have the slim DVD or the 5 1/4" DVD?

Use that voltage calculator they have in another part of the forum.
I have the Epia M9000, slim DVD, 3.5" 80G HD and it's currently running on 55 watts outside of the car.

Thanks for the quick response, if your running all that on 55 watts, then it should be fine. The only other thing that I would add is a gps unit but that shouldn't take too much watts.
