    Hey guys-
Sorry for the long time to respond. I had surgery, and just got home last night. To boot, while I was @ the hosp, someone stole my subwoffer out of my car. It was partly my fault because I don't think I set the alarm, so it was wide open for the taking. I am not happy.
I do have the Dicon LCD1024E working with the AllBrite LCD. Although I have gotten this setup to work with my home PC (with powerstrip), I haven't had a chance to test it out with the onboard video on the VIA M10000. You should have the guys @ Dicon look at the datasheet (for the NEC LCD) to possibly adjust the firmware/BIOS on the controller board for the NEC LCD. If they can't, AND you are using the VIA mobo, you may need a seperate video card, that powerstrip can work with. Unfortunately, I am pretty much bed ridden for the next week and a half, otherwise, I'd test it out myself.

I just got the display up and running. Works like a champ. My controller does not need to use powerstrip. Talk about being a bright display these is one .

I am using the Dicon LCD1280EI board and the panel timing setting is as follows:
off on off off off off off X

SinnerG, the M10000 onboard video works fine with this controller, but I don't know about the lesser LCD1024E. My 12V 1A power supply doesn't seem to be enough to power the board and one of the ccfl bulbs with the inverter that came with the controller kit. It flashes on for about .5 seconds and dies. I have to hold a light up to the display to be able to see the clear, crisp, video image.

Allenruble, what power supply are you using and why aren't you selling those lcd controllers?!

    ddogg_777-
First off, are you talking about the AllBrite LCD? If so, there are 4 CCFL's. IF one isn't lighting, it is surely the current flowing through. If I remember correctly, I was using roughly 1.6A. I was using the +12 and ground from a spare PC powersupply. Also, how are you connecting the 'lines' from the controller to the inverter? Did you get a custom cable made? Also remember, earlier in this post, the controller puts out 5V, but the inverter needs 2.5V (for max brightness). You should first check your voltage with a multimeter, but I suspect that it will also be 5V. Look at the attached file to give you (or anyone else) how to adjust brightness with a trim pot.

Oops, I forgot to mention that the first two resistors (on the left side going down) should be the same value and at least 1Watt, but better to use 2Watt resistors. I would think 1K ohms should do just fine, but a lower value resistor for the variable (trimmer).

I am using the inverter that came with the dicon kit, so it is a perfect match. I am only connecting ONE of the FOUR ccfls to the inverter because I knew I wasn't getting enough juice. I hope that clarifies. The dicon kit came with ALL the cables pre-made.

My power supply is only 12W, once I hook up a more powerful psu I will hook up the inverter that came with the allbrite, then I will use the resisters to drop the voltage. The inverter that came with the kit is for only 2 ccfls, but I am only connecting one. Does this make sense now?

SinnerG, I have two questions about your circuit.
Why do you need a parallel resistor circuit? I measured the resistance at pin6 of the inverter and it has a 500K resistance. Can't we just put a 500K resistor in series to cause a voltage drop from 5V to 2.5V?

My other question is why did you add a trim? OH! I just figured it out, your board doesn't come with a OSD board for adjustments does it?

I am using 12volt 5amp 60watt power supply made by eos corp.
    I just one of the controller's .
