Did you get it working in the end?
Would you ship to the UK?
I have a widescreen LCD, controller, inverter, and OSD board that I've abandoned. The LCD is made by Fujitsu. The controller board is made by Vertex. You can get a jist of what I have in this post. This setup is similar to hijinks21's with the exception of his controller board. I am looking for $250.00, obo (within reason).
Did you get it working in the end?
Would you ship to the UK?
It will work, but with the 'standard' windows resolution (ie 640X480, 800X600, 1024X768). You will then have to play with powerstrip to get the screen to fit. I did have it work with 1024X512, with a message onscreen that prompts you to change resolutions.
I have no problem shipping to the U.K., but you'll have to pay the shipping costs involved.
I read the post's so i understand the issues with it.....so my question remains did you not get working in the end?
I believe you were gonna try a custom res that where the post dies.....
Still interested just need to know!!
In the earlier post, you'll notice that the LCD is working, but with the OSD message to change resolutions. That was with the LCD set to run 1024X512. I don't think the controller likes custom resolutions, however, if you set the resolutions to the standards and play with powerstrip, you'll get the display to work. I will attempt to take a pic soon to show you what I mean.
Basically, the only problem you'll run into when running custom resolutions is the message on the screen.
Also, I have two of these screens. I'll throw them both in to sweeten the deal.
ya i run mine at a lower custom res.. like in the high 800's for width

The message in the screen constantly would be a bit of a major issue!!
Could you send me the screen specs?
i still have no idea what size and how bright it is!!
From Fujitsu:
Dear Sir/Madam,
Thank you very much for your support and interest in
Fujitsu products.
The LCD unit that you are inquiring about is 8.8"
wide-format XGA TFT LCD(1024 x 512).
Unfortunately, we cannot provide you with the information
you requested as the LCD has been designed and manufactured specifically for our notebook PCs, and the LCD alone is not for sale to consumers. Therefore it is not allowed by our company policy to release the information on the LCD to customers.
We will appreciate your understanding.
Sincerely,

Look at this post. It's where I got the idea for this project. If the pics don't load refresh the screen. I believe this is where Hijinks21 got his setup.
