    Talking Been Looking for sproogy

    Hello, Maestro,
My search for sproggy led me to mp3car.com.
I have been groping around since I finally registered to get a wind of what this site is like.
I like DIY stuff and I am impressed with what you guys have to offer.
I am a newbie to MP3 players but not to PCs.
Eventhough I am comfortable with Windows, I would love to do something on Linux (for practice) with all car guages customized with audio alerts etc.

I have just downloaded your 2 attachments and will study them.
    Thanks and keep it up.

    Hey Maestro,
I'm new to this carputer stuff but, from what I can see, your power solution seems the best balance between price and reliability.
This thread hasn't been replied to in a while, but hopefully you're still working on a new batch of your kits.
I'm not all that familiar with how electronic circuitry works, however I do have a steady hand and a good soldering iron, so your solution sounds great.
Before I place an order with you - assuming that you're still selling - I do have a couple of questions:

    1) How does your kit compare, feature-wise, to the Opus solution (which seems to be the popular commercially-made choice). Does it have, for example, the ability to continue to supply power while the engine is cranking?

2a) I saw on your site that the last revision, 2.8plus, you have listed for $35, minus the "not included" parts. Your 3.0 kit is priced, on this thread, at $75 without the "not included" parts. Where does this large price difference come from, and is it an important upgrade to your kit?
2b) The parts not included have changed quite a bit between revisions. How does the total costs of them compare?

If it turns out that the 3.0 kit is an important revision and is worth the money, I'd love to get in line for your next batch of kits.

Don't know what the problem is, will run more tests but I don't think it is the Sproggy.

    Any thoughts.
Changed may battery today, that fixed the problem.

Ah, I had forgotten about your other monstrous thread about the Sproggy MK.
I also forgot that all the missing parts are available as free samples. *yay*

Put me on the waiting list for an MK 3.0!
Now I just have cross my fingers and hope Maxim and Wilco come through with my samples.
