This is the general idea, but I am waiting to hear about the cables before the final design

Ideally id like to ditch the original case

You might be able to do something similar without extending if you put the MB back to back with the screen and the riser pointing toward the right angle int he triangular case.

Study where the cables go, you should be able to remove the screen without making any permanent changes, just remember which plugs go where.

im just taking the kiosk apart and i'm struggling to find a way to take one of the metal supports off the screen. The screw is covered by the glass so I can't get a screw driver in there.. Is there a way to do this?

You can remove the touch panel r try tto drill out the screws. You should be able to figure out if thswill workfor you before having to do that though.

Is it possible to get a single switch that will do it all?

    Many thanks!!

Cool I know, old thread but if you have or had one!

Looking for feedback from folks who did these kiosk computers.
Was it worth it, performance wise?
Did you mount it in your car?
    How did it look?
    Would you do it again?

    Tnx Fred

I purchased three of them and put TV cards in each of them. I upgraded CPU to 1.3 Ghz Celerons, memory to 512 and HD's to 40 gigs. They all work well. I am looking to mount mine in the house (bought them two years ago). The problem with mine is I would need to extend each of the LCDs around 6-8 feet and haven't done it yet. They all work well and never had a problem with them. I want to use them as extensions to my HAI and MM system in the house.

Since I couldn't get my Kiosk PC to be ACPI compliant, I am now using my MSI Mega 180 SFF computer with the Sharp LCD that comes with the kiosk PC. I went out and bought one of the EarthLCD Analog to Digital Controller cards and it works great. I spent about $250 total and it's a matter of plug and play (tell them which LCD panel you have and they make the video cable that goes to the board for free.). I now can use VGA with the LCD and a standard serial cable for the touch screen. I highly recommend.

I extended my cables originally and this worked fine, but my friend and I spent so much time soldering those pins on the video connector and it still looked ghetto... It's a lot of money to throw down to buy the controller, but it's the best way to go, for sure.
