FS on Ebay GPS with External Antena 3075456749.

This auction is for all of the items shown in the photo. The GPS was originally a Rand McNally serial device. It requires a com port and a mouse or keyboard port (for power) There are links with instuctions to modify it to draw power directly from a 5v souce. The device has been modified so allow the use of an external trunk mount antenna. The included trunk mounted antena also has a cellular antenna built into it. It slips onto the trunk easily and locks on with two allen screws. It has long wires that can be routed from the trunk to beaneth the dash. Also included is "Rand McNally's Street Finder". The software is new but was opened to test the GPS. Additional info on both can be found at Rand McNally's website or on this link : http://www.gpsnuts.com/myGPS/GPS/Har...cnally_gps.htm

The antanna alone is worth $119.

Yes, that's what they say! Did you check out the link? It uses the com port for data and ps/2 for power. I assume that unlike a USB port the COM ports logic 5v is not enough to power an attached device. The GPS needs power from somwehere. If you don't have a PS/2 port connect it to 5 volts coming from your power supply. Hope this helps.
