THis is a phoenix BIOS - its a BIOS I never heard of before, and if you go inside, you see there are not much options...

I am not aware of how we do flash program BIOS - never worked around that.

yeah i know. but i did try thos today messing with the bios. if u go on to where it says 8xxxkb aas in hd size or what they allow. u can go in to user and raise the secotrs and other things and it will make the hd go from 8gb to what ever size. i dont know what this does to the hd at all so i just reset it and up t back where i found it.

Oh, the computer works fine without the card reader thing.

Is it possible to specify sectors and heads and all that, and then get this thing to take a bigger hard drive. I don't have another laptop hard drive to use, so I can't test this myself. But this is an idea.

Setting up your hard drive in bios manually wont hurt anything. Look on your drive, most will have all the info on the top. If not, look up the model and get the info from a manufacturers site. Let us know if it worked.

or make the drive being detected on another computer and see its head/sector settings before putting it manually on the IMDM...

is our HDD 6 or 8 Gig? I didn't verify that as of now... if its 8 gig, I won't bother changing it for a 10 gig... LOL

sorry for doubleposting. I think that the connector I was studying is indeed a floppy connector.

if you give a look at external laptop floppy drive and their connector
    see pic:
    http://www.avdistrict.org/laptop/IMA...ydrive_400.gif

    it is likely compatible.

I tihnk I might have an old toshiba somewhere with an external laptop that would be siutable... if so I will give a try this week.

    http://www.maxtor.com/en/support/dow.../maxblast3.htm

You can try that with a maxtor drive to break the 2GB barrier I think.
