To get input into the machine...
without floppy or cd-rom.

I would take the harddrive out and connect it as slave on a PC. You can buy a adapter for 6 buks at CompUSA. Copy the files you need over and then replace the drive.

Or, you can just copy it over the network if you have it networked.

I wonder if the software that gets rid of the the GB bios limit would allow this PC to use a larger harddrive?

Question: how are you guys thinking about powerUP/shutDOWN with the car?

the unit goes ON when powered, you can shut it down (but fans keep ON) but how to automate within the car?

about the net card... It is plugged firmly, but my 24 port switch does not read it. I tough it might be the connector's leds but it seams not to pick up.

I notice the lights are flashing when the PCMCIA cards are initialised at bootup, but then no network activity.

I just had the most brilliant idea: why not trying the machine's PCMCIA net card into my lappy??? lol

putting the HDD into another puter would not work for configuration, just for file copying. I might simply copy the CAB files from 98se and be OK, tough.

the best would be network activity. Do we have another net card onboard? It seams to be like 3/4 net cards in the hardware setup... I haven,t found another connector so far, but haven't dismantled it yet.

I have a PCMCIA Linksys Wireless G netcard in my laptop now. Would that work?

ok update from me i got a 128ram this morning. i installed it in about 15mins runs ok.
the net card worked fin for me i used it at work might take it out and get a usb 2.0 card for when im at home.

hey leslie can u find out ig that siftware the gb one does fix it to take bigger hdd. that would be great for me . i only have 2 laptop hdd 1's a 20gb the other a 40gb .

there is a little connector on the side of one of the board that suspectedly looks like it could fit a slim CD-ROM...
anyone noticed this connector?

its on the right when the screen is straight. I made a search on ebay, and it might not be a slimline CD connector afterall, but its surely something.

anyway, I'll give a closer look next week.
