junk yard?
(I mean if you don't get it at the local junk yard, use yellow pages and get to the city where you find a junkyard with one)
I want to make a dummy face [ha ha, here's my dummy face] for my 2001 Chevy Malibu. Does anybody have or know where I can find broken/used head units and HVAC controls for just the faces? I have checked local junkyards and ebay and they are all selling the stuff for at least $25 plus shipping. I am willing to pay shipping plus $5.
Thanks

Thanks Mars,
The local junkyard wants $200 for the radio. I guess I'm really just hoping that someone might have a dead one laying around that they want to get rid of. I have seen working ones on ebay, but they usually get bid up past $25 and then the shipping is around $10-$20. I am way too cheap to pay this right now for just the plastic fronts. Maybe I can just put a picture of a radio and hvac controls on top of my screen. I'm sure that nobody would notice :P
Try thrift stores.
Thanks Pogue - I have already tried that site and the prices are ridiculous.
Kami - I will keep my eyes open at some thrift stores and local papers.
If anybody finds the HVAC controls or radio I need, please send me a pm.
Thanks

a broken one

By the way, I just had my car in the dealer and I asked them what they do with their old radios. If they have a warranty claim, they send them back to the company for testing. Otherwise, they are forced to destroy the units. Again, if anybody has an extra one laying around, let me know.
Thanks
