Fs Ibm Laptop!!
Alright, i've had this thing sitting forever... and i have other laptops so its not use to me now. This thing would be great for a carpc for someone on a budget.
Specs
IBM I-SERIES (i wanna say 1200 or something)
500 mHz p3
128 mb of ram
6 gig HDD
edit: it also has a CD rom drive and a floppy (i forgot to mention this), the cd rom also has a feature that allows you to play cds without turning on the laptop
condition:
thing is in alright condition however this model is notorious for the plug becomming loose. If you hold the thing while you are operating it, the thing runs like a champ. If your good with a soldering iron this should not be a problem, i just havent found the time to open it up and repair it. Also I do not have the original power adapter for it however, i did make one by by clipping the end off of another IBM laptop charger that had a different connecter, the output voltages of the adapters are identical so it is safe to use. Also there is a tiny crack near the battery, this is barley noticeable and does not effect performance.
200 shipped obo
for an extra $10 I will throw in a 802.11b wifi card card is an xtrasys...works great PCMCIA(i will not sell this card sepeartly!!!!)

Damnit, where were you like 3 days ago...Oh well, bump for a good deal
-
interesting not, and i dont think it would be very safe, but the AC adapter has an output range of 16-10V -2.2-3.2 A..........to me that almost sounds like you could hook this think directly up to your acc line and not even run an inverter or anything...and even have a battery backup so it would def survive the crank
oh, i forgot to mension, the battery does hold a charge.....but usually only for up to an hour or so, and i havent charged it in about a year.

If you decide you'd like to part this out, I'd love to have the hard drive (especially if it has an OS on it already...). Let me know! Thanks!

WOW good deal i sold my 400 mhz lappie for 300
-
definatly not parting it out
-
I might be interested, can i see some pics....is it scratched up? hows the display and lastly do you have heat or feedback somewhere?
-
my ebay feedback is on sbomb0
i've sold on here to several people, all have seemed pleased.
right now i do not have a digital camera, as soon as i get one i will take some pictures.
As for detailed description
the good
1.CD rom, HDD and laptop work well overall
1. display is pretty good, however there are some minor scratches in the middle (i
m not sure its its something stuck to the screen or not, i tried picking at it, but it didnt seem to be helping, once again these are very tiny)(hopefully ill get some pics up soon if i can find a decent camera)
2. The issue with the power plug stated in my first post.
3. there is one screw missing on the hdd cover. The hdd cover is also the lcd for the cd rom and control buttons which allow you to play cds while the laptop is off.
