    FS: Cool & quiet combo

[EDIT: All the specs listed are now complete and up-to date. Pictures added too.]

I have been playing around with a Via C3 chip for a while and built a nice cool and quiet combo. I am planning to upgrade to a faster C3 chip and a different motherboard, so I am looking to sell my current setup.

CPU: Via C3 650mhz (6.5 X 100) Samuel. This chip is so cool that you can run it without a heatsink if you really wanted to. I installed Windows XP with the chip running without a heatsink. I hooked up an aluminum heatsink with NO fan and it ran as cool as my P4 with a massive fan.

Motherboard: PCChips M758 LMRE. Sis 630 chipset, socket 370, mATX form factor. PCChips aint always the greatest, but this board can support even the fastest Celerons (1.4 ghz). I have tested it with 3 different C3 chips and 2 different Celerons with no problems. It is tough finding socket 370 boards that can do that. It has two DIMM slots and can take 1 GB RAM total. The FSB speeds are 66/100/133. Modem, ethernet, sound, and video are all built-in. I can provide the drivers as well as the manual for this board too.

I run this setup with NO fan other than the power supply fan. It stays cool and quiet and it runs constantly, serving as my mp3 jukebox at home. At one point I had the PSU fan and a case fan going and the chip never went above 30 degrees C, so I decided I didnt even need the case fan. I use a real quiet PSU, so this setup is basically silent except for some hard drive spinning and vibration! This has been a great little project computer and I have been inpressed with its performances. Its not a scorcher, but with 256 mb of RAM it does everything I need it to do and it doesnt make a peep.

So the combo as its being sold is the CPU and motherboard. I am asking $50 OBO, including priorty shipping, for this combo. I am will take offers, and possibly trade offers, but please don't low ball me. We can discuss adding SDRAM and maybe even the PSU I am using at a fair price if someone wants the whole setup.

PM with any questions. I hope this sweet little combo can find a nice home.

Eskalad: $50 is the price for the motherboard and CPU shipped. It is a standard mATX socket 370 motherboard (will accept Pentium 3, Celeron, and Via C3 chips) with standard ATX power.

I have SDRAM and hard drives I can include, but those will be in addition to the $50 price. I can also include the PSU, which is incredibly silent for extra as well.

Please PM if you are still interested.

I've have really crazy hours at work so I haven't had time to put up any pics, but they will be coming later this week I hope.
