Does this have to connect using the molex? What is the point of the TOSLINK Optical Out Board?? Is it hard to branch off a molex connector? If not, I've got first dibs. Thanks!

No it doesn't have to connect using the molex, just needs 12V DC. You could cut the molex connector off and run it to a lighter plug if you wanted to. You just get well regulated power off of a PC Power Supply that's all.

The TOSLINK board lets you use a fiber optic cable to hook the XM Direct up to a sound card with an optical input like a Sound Blaster Audigy2 NX or Extigy, etc etc. It gives you better sound quality than using the RCA outputs on the XM Direct box (supposedly the Digital to Analog converter that is built into the XM Direct isn't very high quality, read: cheap, where as the one in a Sound Blaster is very high quality).

It isn't hard at all to branch off a molex connector. The cable I made has a passhthrough to daisy chain devices (since most power supplies used in carputers have only 1 or 2 molex connectors).

OK.. Do you have any pictures? I don't have an external sound card, I have one thats built in. Does this just plug into the line in or something? Can you take/have any pictures taht I can see? Thanks again

Also, the only access to the sound card is via line in or a mic input. Does the system have a plug that will fit into my computer. I do have a serial port too.

I can throw in a cable that goes from the rca outputs to a headphone style connector, and that would plug in to your line input.
