    Hi Nimrod,
I need to recheck my order. I thought I ordered you an 18" cable but now I'm not sure.

Worst case scenario is you'll get a 12" cable.

    I'll let you know,

    update 3/9/02

I was out of town yesterday but I did get a chance to talk to my contact person. She is starting the order!!

We're going to work out the payment details on Monday. By then we should have all the pricing worked out including the shipping charges from CA to WI. I'll amortize those shipping costs across all the orders and add it to each order. Since we have quite a few orders, I'm hoping the shipping won't affect each cable price by more than $1 or $2.

Of course once they are here I'll have to package them and charge for shipping to you.

    Stay tuned!

    Update 3/11/02

The cables are in queue to be built. Expected to leave the supplier no later than Friday 3/15/02. I hope I can get them shipped out by the following week.

If the shipping estimate to me is accurate, here are the costs of the cables themselves (shipping to you not included). Please note if shipping costs change or are higher than expected, these pricess may need to be adjusted. I can't imagine it would move more than $0.50 per cable.

    12" 1 to 1 discrete wire $19.50
    18" 1 to 1 discrete wire $20.50

    12" LQ9D161 cable $16.50
    18" LQ9D161 cable $17.50

I suspect shipping to most US locales to be around $4 to $5. For Australia or Canada we need to talk prior to shipment. My plan is to use the cheapest method (USPS ground) with tracking but not buy insurance. There may be packaging material costs in addition to postage if I can't scounge up enough free material. There will not be any handling charges.

It would be very helpful to me if people could email me the following:

    MP3Car username
    real name
    Address
    phone number

Do not send me money or paypals yet!

I can start getting the packaging material and labels ready if you send this info now.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE include your MP3Car username. I know most of you by that name and will not be able to reconcile orders without it.

Note: I planned to test each cable prior to shipping them to you. This will obviously take time. If this is not a requirement for you, please indicate it in you name/addy email to me.

More details later on how to send me money.

    Thanks,
    Pigseye

    All,
Just want to say thanks to all of you for your appreciation and words of encouragement. It's my pleasure to help out but this has been incredibly time consuming to me. Much more than I had ever planned.

A couple of points as an FYI:

    1) No extra cables were ordered. The only way there will be an extra cable is if someone doesn't want theirs. But if you ordered one, I expect you to buy it. Don't weasel out on my now!

    2) If you do not contact me with your real name and address by 3/20, I may choose to sell your cable to someone else. My option. So if you haven't contacted me do it quickly.

    3) Finally, if there are extra cables, people on the original order list will get priority. People who have not placed an order will be next. I will go by time and date of request for extra cables to prioritize the original order list folks.

Yes, I know that doesn't seem fair, people who already have a cable can get another before someone who has no cable. But to me it is the most fairway to deal with "extras." I want to deal with the people who have contacted me during this long ordering process and had the foresight and intention before late comers. My apologies to those who missed out.

Hope that helps clear things up,
    Pigseye
