FS or TR: 4x40 LCD w/12ft Cable Prewired -Pics!

First let me say sorry for my crappy cammera.

The LCD is a 4x40 LED backlit Seikio HD44780. Works great. I tested it. Very sharp characters, bright display. I used WinLCD to test and the vizulation is clean, no garbage.

I made the cable. It is a standard male printer connector at one end. It has a connector for power that fits directly into an existing powersupply. No need for an extra line, it will fit in between an existing powered HD or CD-Rom. It also has two pots. One for contrast of the characters and one for backlight brightness. On the other end, there is an IDE-like connector that fits the male IDE-like connector on the LCD. Once again everything is presoldered, just plug-and-play from here.

Oh, and there are an extra two wires that i left on the cable, if you would like to wire an LED or switch to the front of your car near the LCD. This eliminates running another 2 wires.

Hey,

What are the exact dimensions of the LCD? both the outside width and height of the black trim and of the PCB itself. Let me know. It almost looks like it would fit very well in a 7"x2" DIN location in the dash. If so, I want it.

the outer silver measures:
17cm x 4.25cm

the outer PCB measures:
19cm x 5.5cm

the diagonal of the viewable is:
15cm

so in answer to your question, the silver bezel will fit within the 7x2" but the outer PCB will not.

That would be perfect then as I would want the PCB to be hidden behind the dash and the lcd to stick through the 7"x2" opening. I will get back to you on this as I may be putting a 7" lcd in the double din opening instead of a character lcd and a cd player. I will let you know within a day.

Hey,

Wondering if you have sold this yet. I forgot about getting back to you. I apologize for that.

What type of CPU are you looking for? I've got 2 Celeron 300A's both of which run at 450 mhz. Both were used for about 1 year when I ran dual 450's. I also have a PII 400mhz. All of the three processors are slot 1 of course. I would be willing to work out a trade if you're interested in these CPU's.
