spoken like a true squid. Learn to ride a slow bike fast before you try to ride a fast bike badly.

Seriously, if you want to learn how to be a GOOD rider, start on a bike that you can control easily and is forgiving of newb mistakes. And yes, mistakes will be made. A 250 will easily travel at a rate that will kill you; up to about 100 mph. It is a very manuverable bike and gets great gas mileage, about 65-70.

greenman100, you have made a very wise choice in getting what I am assuming will be a first bike. If its not your first bike then you already know what I'm talking about.http://forums.ninja250.org/ This is a great place to start. TONS of information in this place.

    Keep it wheels down.

Yup, I'd like not to kill myself, and the 250 Ninja basically doesn't depreciate.

Also I will wear a helmet and gloves at all times, and a jacket weather permitting.

thas a good atitude some people arel ike oh helmets are gay they mess up my hair gloves make my hands sweat and the jackets are to big but **** when u see people fall with a jacket gloves nice boots good thick jeans and helmet they will get up and most likely be able to sit down again after the wreck but then those people who ride around in shirts with no gloves wont even be able to pick up a glass with their own hands for a few weeks and like monger mentioned above about the forums thas the best place to get more info on riding techniques bike information diy guides and stuff like that also check out gixxer forums at gixxer.com be safe and know your limits also take that msf class they tell u SOOOO much in that class its mostly saftey stuff but wow do these things come in handy
