Just out of curiosity, how do you get that board to run without some kind of passive backplane? Just add power and it works?
Hey Guys,
I got a laptop so I dismantled my carputer and I'm selling the parts. Here is what I have for sale:
Pics of both items: http://www.ofoto.com/BrowsePhotos.js...id=11121186303
ICS Advent SBC-SBX-VE PIII BX single board computer.
This board is rock solid and runs up to an 850mhz PIII or Celeron.
This thing has integrated 2 MB video with C&T 69000 processor. Has a TFT controller built in.
Has LAN built in.
I ran a PIII 633 on it with 256 MB of ram and it never locked up one time running win2k or win 98SE.
All drivers are available under Win98SE and Win2k. Very quick boot time as well. The manufacturer offers lifetime free tech support for the board and they are extremely helpful. I called them to inquire as to whether the board would work with the 144 MB diskonchip modules, which it does, and they were very helpful and friendly.
Here is a link to specs and manufacturer.

As you can see the board costs $795 on their site. I am willing to let it go for $150 shipped.

SPS-House AT 200 watt DC-DC PSU - This PSU works great and works well with the SBC above. It has extra long power cables which is nice if you're going to mount the PSU away from the SBC. The person that had it before me evidentally modified it so that it does not have a switch and just turn on when 12 volts is applied. Personally I preferred this but thought I should make buyer aware. If you look at the specs here, the one on the site has a switch:

I'll take $100 shipped for the PSU.
Both items are in excellent condition and work perfectly. No surprises. I guarantee both items against DOA. If someone wants to buy both together, I'll do $225 shipped.
Any questions let me know. jstrahn@hotmail.com I have 60 positives on ebay, username jstrahn

Yes the SBC works without a backplane. I have been asked this so many times. You plug 1 of the 2 AT connectors to the SBC and it works perfectly. When you run a backplane, you plug the other AT connector to the backplane.
As for sound, I ran a usb soundcard which worked very well. The sound was better than with an ISA or PCI soundcard. No hiss or fuzz at all. The usb soundcards can be had on ebay for about $30 or less.
Any other questions, let me know.
