    Carputer For Sale

14AUG06 - Unit is sold and the transaction is complete - thanks for the interest.

*** PAYPAL IS READY FOR CREDIT CARDS ***

I've had this unit for about 6months, been on the shelf for 3 of those months. I had this in my WRX with a moded Lilliput from TMZ that went out. I've since gotten a really good offer for my car, though they don't want the computer. It's all prewired and labeled for an installation. The DVD/CDRW has both USB power and a moded cable that uses one of the carputer's 5v leads. The PS isn't Opus but the one from CaseOutlet. I wasn't using its auto power on/off features, just the vandal switch with the Blue LED.

I'm looking for about $450-$500 shipped for all of it. "jmhskier" is my ebay ID - 138 feedback rating at 100%. If you're in Denver we can work out a pickup.

    - Travla C158A-M1DC Black
    - VIA MII 10k w/512MB, 200GB and IDE CF Drive & 90W PS
This is the unit with PCMCIA and CF on board as well - check pics.
    - Lacie External DVD/CDRW USB Powered.
    - Holux CM-720U CF GPS with External Antenna
    - Creative Audigy NX 2 USB Sound Card with PS only no remote.

    Let me know.

That is the picture of the install. Patrick over at TMZ was selling moded Lilliputs to go into the 2din slot with the factory brackets. The screen is placed in a custom aluminum bezel with the IR, AV inputs, and power leads all soldered to the board rather than using the plugs. Unfortunately the board itself went out and Patrick is trying to get that fixed - so I'm without a screen.

I'll take offers on the carputer - its just going to sit and I'd rather see it go to someone in the community that could use it.

that's cool... my server isn't playing nice so I'll just put the pics on the post. It was a pretty good setup quite stock looking. I was going to put a headunit in the clock area with the gauge sleeve. And yes - the Lilliput wasn't the brightest.

I can take paypal - along with credit cards now.

looks good, im kinda of iffy on doing it through paypal with such a big ammount and not using a CC, all it takes is 2 or 3 clicks anyways to set up, i did it about 3 weeks ago, do you have any original recipts?

where did you mount it at? I can't figure out just by look at that last pic where it's at....

understandable... I'll PM you the reciepts I have. I know I have the case/mb/ps as well as the ram/hd one. Not sure on the GPS since it was ebay'd.

I mounted it underneath the passenger seat. That is a view with the driver's side on the left, passenger door on the right - note the yellow air bag lead.

I'll setup the business account now - you mind paying the 3% they charge for the cards?

paypal must be slow... it's still available. If you do pay through paypal with a credit card - please add the 3% they charge for using a credit card. I'll pay the shipping, so it's kind of a wash.

I've gotten a lot of questions about the parts so instead of 100 PM's I'll go ahead and post it. Individually purchased this setup goes for $780; I bought it for just under $1000. I have the receipts from most of the hardware purchases last summer - except the GPS, the keyboard, the DVD/CDRW, and the Audigy - all those were ebay'd.

Travla C158 Case w/DC-DC Power Supply
The case is about the size of a sheet of paper - and roughly 2" high. More specs can be found here:
    http://www.caseoutlet.com/common/pro...158A-M1DC.html

The power supply is a 90W unit that is DC-DC. It is made to control power even through engine cranks, deep discharges and has an auto shutdown system (10, 20, 30min, etc). I used an external power switch instead because I liked the blue LED. Here's more info:
    http://www.caseoutlet.com/common/pro...TX/M1-ATX.html
*** The power switch is included!!! ***
    http://www.frozencpu.com/ele-70.html

Motherboard is EPIA MII 10000 (1Ghz processor) with PCMCIA and Compact Flash onboard. It also has a Compact Flash to IDE drive. There is also an available PCI slot for a TV Tuner, etc.

    Lacie external DVD/CDRW

512MB RAM & 200GB Western Digital Hard full size drive.

Holux GM-270U GPS with 10Ft Antenna
    - this goes in the compact flash slot - check pics

Creative Audigy NX 2 USB sound card.
    - the standard soundcard stinks and this is the best external one out there.
    http://www.creative.com/products/pro...4&product=9103

    Sony Playstation USB QWERTY Keyboard!
    - why use the touch screen when you can type like a blackberry - see the pics!

All the cables are included - all power (note the 6ft molex power extension used for my screen), 2x 6ft USB extensions, antenna's etc.

*** The screen is not included. Its somewhere in CA getting resoldered for a bad circuit board ***

Out of curiosity, where in your WRX did you have this mounted? I have an '04 WRX with a Mac Mini installed, but I'm leaning more and more toward replacing it with a PC. The Travla cases seem pretty easy to work with, I just have a hard time imagining where to find enough real estate for something that size.

    Thanks,
