Any Idea how I could find out if my laptop (Dell Latitude L400) which is a PIII 700 is compatible/upgradeable with any of these chipsOriginally Posted by jhanson999
I have some processors laying around I don't need, just wondering if anyone's interested in any of them. Pictures are available, just email me, email@example.com.
SL5CK- intel pentium 3 1.13ghz, 133mhz bus, 512k l2 cache, 478 pin processor
SL4GT- intel pentium 3 800mhz, 100mhz bus, 256k cache, 495 pin processor
SL5CH- intel pentium 3 1ghz, 133 mhz bus, 512K cache, 478 pin processor
Just shoot me an offer if you're interested in any of em, $20 each or $40 for the lot.
I would imagine thats the 100mhz bus so I would think only the SL4GT 800mhz would work for you, don't quote me on that though.
To find out for sure:
1. Take it apart and check the pin count on the processor board. The 800mhz I have (495 pin) has them all in one big square, with no cutout in the middle, while the others (the 478 pins) have the pins in a square, but an open space without pins in the middle. Make sense?
2. Try to contact dell and see what they say would work....
