FS: The entire system, in parts.

My truck has left me stranded in the middle of nowhere for the last frikkin time. When I get it back on friday, I'm yanking the computer out and taking it to carmax. I'm ****ed. (you may remember THIS THREAD which left me stranded 2 weeks ago).

    So, here goes:

    MSI-6125 BookPC with 667 Celeron & 96MB PC100 RAM...$300

    Rand Macnally StreetfinderGPS/software $80 SOLD

    IR Wireless keyboard/mouse $20 SOLD

Parallell port Relay card (built, functioning) $50

2-port serial, 1-port parallel expansion PCI card $30

Orinoco USB GOLD 802.11b adapter that I've had about 2 weeks $100

    Pioneer slot-load 16x DVD $35 SOLD

More stuff to be posted later

Someone asked me about selling the screen when I thought about getting rid of the truck a couple of weeks ago, so I offered it to them first. If I haven't heard from them by friday, I'll post it here.

I am getting my old saturn back from my sister and buying her a new car. It has never left her or me on the side of the road and we've had the darn thing 5 years and we bought it used. I am only gonna have it for a year, and it wont be insured, so I'm not putting a computer in that monstrosity.

Why is the 802.11b adapter so expensive? I'm planning on buying one eventually, but I hadn't gotten that far yet so I don't know what to look for in one. Pricewatch has USB 802.11b adapters for $60 new though... Is there some feature I should be looking for that they are lacking and yours has?

Its a lucent card, they $60 cards are most likely linksys and dlink or the like. its just the quality of the construction afaik.

gkli: go HERE to see a stock picture and specs on the BookPC (there is also a link in the first post to a site that sells them bareboes)

rsp010: I got a PM from another user about 4 hours before your post about the DVD, so he gets first dibbs. My roommate has decided to buy the GPS from me to add to his wardriving rig...and why on earth are you coming to starkville?

Novalis: The Lucent/orinoco cards are more expensive because you get what you pay for. These cards are better quality than the ones you can get for $60. This version is the USB GOLD version, gold meaning that it can handle 128bit WEP encryption as opposed to the 40bit that is standard, if offered at all. It sells new for $125 on pricewatch. (i will probably just send it back to the place I bought it, since i've only had it 2 weeks)
