As some of you know, I've been integrating my A/C with my carputer. I ran into a problem, though. The Phidgets 8/8/8 kit only allows 20mA per output....not nearly enough to turn on a relay.
So, I built this:
It will respond to as little as 2mA of current on each channel, closing the relay. This makes it suitable for use not only with a Phidgets board, but also a
parallel port.
It's also pretty cool that the
relays have built in quick disconnect
connectors, so you can change what the relay controls without re-soldering.
I used 5 relays, 1 for each fan speed, and one for the compressor. Each relay is rated at 25A load.
You could control
windows, doors,
lights, and your A/C with this...
I have 2 these, but only need one. I'll sell the remaining one for
$25 shipped.
