Using DLYON - Amp thump
Happy with my P1900 so far. One of the last problems in my carpc installation is the Amp Thump - I can't seem to get rid of it.
I tried the DLYON (blue wire), but there's no change. Amp supports "remote", and it was working fine with previous carpc (M2 psu) - there was no thump at startup.
Maybe I set the jumpers wrong. What would the correct jumper settings be? JP4 - 2,3 pin (DLYON) ... others?
My setup is based on an 19v Zotac ION Mag, no extra harneses.
I'm not sure what to suggest other than re-read pages 27-29 of the manual and double check your jumper settings against those instructions. My 1900 works perfect for this job.
I already did that. So just in case I failed to understand the config correctly - would you be so kind to write your jumper configuration? Do you have only one cable (blue) going from PSU to AMP?
I tested some more today. The thump comes after initial windows loading (from hibernate); just before desktop is shown. This seems a bit weird, as the soundcard is on board. It's like the loading drivers make this thump. Out of ideas ATM.
It's been a while , but when I used this unit, they changed something when they updated the fw and dlyon stopped working...they had it documented on their forum or something...
I could be wrong :) but i remember going through this as well...
I was going to go out to the truck, and snap a pic of the 1900 with my jumper settings, I just didn't get a chance yet, the truck has been tied up. I'll try tonight or in the morning. Have you checked your amp to see if it appears to be delaying in powering on?
Thank you for the info.
I think the DLYON delay of 3 seconds works - I checked the AMP "ON" light. The problem must be in the drivers somehow. As stated in previous post, the "pop" comes right before windows startup/wakeup is finished. That's about 15 seconds after car ignition start. I checked all the windows settings; put everything to "off" (audio input and such), but nothing is changed.
Another useful info might be that AMP is connected to the "headphones" output jack, which is the only analog sound output available on ZOTAC ION MAG. I'll try my luck in finding a better driver..
This may not help now but here it is since I've got it JIC.
dotraw, just to be clear does it happen from a cold boot AND from hibernate, or just from hibernate?
Thank you. I'll check it out anyway.

This probably belongs to another forum now; nevertheless: does anyone have any ideas how to fix this annoying issue? Software? Some weird "magic" box on the PC output? USB external card? Different AMP that you can connect to the OPTICAL or HDMI output?
