Didn't you just post over at CF that Carnetix is going to release a new beta for all Win 7 operating systems, and that all Carnetix Windows 7 drivers are experimental?
ditto that
DaveDog, have you tried it on a x64?
I was able to install the program you mentioned, however, I'm still unable to simply launch PSUmoni.
'PSUmoni has stopped working' is the error I keep getting running on Win 7 home premium 64 bit

yep, but if people are already running PSUmoni on windows 7, it SHOULD work.
that seen and said, it should work am I right?
I haven't seen any posts on people with x64 getting it to work. Only x86 installs have it working. So if you switch to x86, I guess it will work.

yeah you are correct about that, thats why im posting about wanting to get 64 bit to work.
i'm considering changing to 32 now...
but i have a bit of promise after a little experimentation, using davedog's post and download (for x64)
it seems to control the p2140 and you toggle some settings when the usb is connected....-this works even when PSUmoni fails.
so i can sucessfully test it with my ignition switch and send it to standby and it brings it back up.
now i just have to figure out how to set win 7 to hibernate and come back.
My Win7 install is x86, too many driver issues trying to use x64.

BoatPC - Update coming this spring
BlazerPC - PS keeps killing battery
ok thanks for the update.... i may downgrade to x86

so one more question for Mr. DaveDog, in your Win 7 setup, how did you set up your machine to hibernate with your power monitor tray icon?
I'm using your tray app from your simple service post.
so far its working with my win 7 64 bit setup in standby mode, but i'm trying to figure out configurations for hibernate in windows 7.
ok update, i took ya'lls advice and downgraded to 32bit and reinstalled everything.
now the problem is with trying to get it to hibernate with the p2140.
i have usb enabled....thats not an issue.
i've tried standby and hibernate and laptop modes
Laptop and Hibernate modes:
it will go into hibernate when i switch ignition off, but will not turn back on unless i physically hit the power button.
Standby mode:
it will go into standby and come back up with the ignition switched on.
any advice on the settings?
ok to elaborate a bit more...
Ok some background first.
My set up;
2010 mac mini
p2140 Carnetix
Centrafuse
Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit (just downgraded from 64 bit to get PSUmoni working)
working via test bench set up right now.
My issue is with the 3 options in PSUmoni with USB enabled. (assuming USB must be enabled for these to work)
Laptop mode
Standby mode
Hibernate mode
I now got my set up working, except for the Laptop/hibernate option in PSUmoni.
Laptop mode:
it will go into hibernate when i switch ignition off, but will not turn back on/resume when i turn the ignition back on, unless i physically hit the power button.
When physically I hit the power button, it resumes from hibernate as it should. It appears the p2140 shutdown process is working, but it isnt resuming.
I guess its not sending an ACPI via USB upon turning the ignition back on? Is this because hibernate turns off the primary power rail and it cannot get the signal? if so, how can i get around this?
Standby mode:
when i switch the ignition off, it will go into standby as it should, and come back up with the ignition switched on.
(standby mode works like a charm, but I fear the battery drain)
Hibernate mode:
when ignition is switched off, it actually just cuts power to the mac mini
when i turn the ignition back on, it does not restart unless i physically press the power button on the mac mini, it then restarts (doesn't hibernate) have to 'start windows normally, or safe mode etc' and boots up.
then somehow it actually wrecks PSUmoni!
-What I mean by wrecks PSUmoni is that it will launch, but you cannot configure the soft jumpers (settings button) spits out some error, and will not go away, I have to do a system restore to get it back to normal. so i've been avoiding Hibernate mode all together. I'm thinking Laptop mode is what I want.
I think I might be missing configuring something inside Win 7, or the p2140, or PSUmoni. What do I need to do to get it to hibernate and resume via ignition? I would like it to behave like the standby mode as far as resuming with ignition.
any advice on the settings?
check bios setting for resume when power restored
