Standalone BlueSoleil wrapper

The net_avail is a problem I know of. Its down to the bluesoleil software itsself. It only reports on network availability when the phone is first connected. If you restart the app without disconnecting then bluesoleil doesn't rereport the network status. Its whats causing me the most head aches in converting my mobilephone plugin.

Sonicxtacy02. you can check where its looking for the dll by adding a message box to output the path setting.

add this line

msgbox Environment.GetEnvironmentVariable("path") after the path is set.

the reason to do this is that you cannot set a variable path to a dll but if the dll is in the local path then its found. so I set the path to include where the application is runnin from which is why the dll need to be in the same directory. If you know a better or different way I would be interested.

Had a think about the netavail problem.

What does everyone think of automatically disconnectig and reconnecting if the phone is already connected when the app first starts up? The downside for me is you have to accept the audio connection on the phone (but that might just be my phone).

In your phone settings go to paired phone and select that pair as autorized, paired, permament, automatic - different makes call that diferently but as result of that option phone will auto connect w/ your comp w/o confirmation message

late with the reply to this one as the forum decided it wouldn't bother to email me saying there were new replies.. but anyway yet disconnecting and reconnecting seems a good solution.
I have been playing with the wrapper in my own app this evening and implemented the very thing, it seems to work fine.

I have however noticed that if I disable the BT on my phone (while connected) - to simulate my phone going out of range etc.. then none of the callbacks update to notify of the condition.
For example, when I turn off my BT the green Bluesoleil icon in the system tray turns back to blue to say it's not connected with anything. However all of the callbacks from the wrapper still return NetAvail = True, Operator = O2 - UK etc.. which makes kicking off a reconnection when back in range a bit of a pain as I have no way (in code at least) of knowing the device needs to be reconnected.

Any ideas why it's doing that?

OH WOW, so RR is now using BlueSoliel also, so I guess their software is good. That makes CF and RR using it.

Let me ask though, Lambo, how are you combating the echo issue? Alot of us using CF had to use a echo cancel sound card, the Phoenix SOHO conference card. Its basic purpose is to eliminate echo in a speaker phone setting, it plugs into you existing sound card. Also the last issue plaguing the phone is a annoying delay. BlueSoliel did have a fix for it, but once you come out of hibernation, it no longer works, how are you fighting that issue.

@swift_gti. I'll have a look into that. Hadn't spotted it. Off for two weeks though so probably wont get you an answer before then.

@HiJackZX1. I haven't noticed an echo when using it but that may be because I'm only using on my laptop at the moment so it may have echo canceling already. About to use it on a two week trip so may have more info after that. I haven't noticed any delay at all. maybe others can comment.

Also this wrapper is up for anyone to use ot just for RR. I made a separete plugin to use it with RR specially because people asked to make it non rr specific.

If you get chance to look into hangup not working when your back that would be great too (if it's not only me that's having this issue that is..)

my problem was i had version 6.2. It appears 6.4.* is needed. I CANT BELIEVE THIS WORKS WITH MY BLACKBERRY STORM! awesome work. Now to test the RR plugin.
