I have PC Scan, and unfortunately the dash does not appear as good as that. Mind you, I suppose if I play around with it I may be able to get something like it. Mine looks like it was drawn in DOS, whereas the above appears as though it is High Definition. Are there skins available like the above? Or do you have to design to suit?
The biggest problem I have at the moment is getting PID's to work. I have a Ford Territory.
I'm interested. How customizable is DashXL? Can you make the dashes full screen without all the window parts I see in the screen shots? (title bar, buttons, menu bar, etc....)
Also, I would be interested in non-standarded gauges - as in, the kind shown in that Skyline GTR. They're not needles, they're just red things that change shape in a certain way depending on the value of the gauge. Can Dash XL do that?
Also, by what mechanism is it customizable? Is it proprietary stuff? Or do we use Flash/multiple pics/etc.?
Thanks!
I would suggest that you take a look at the DashDAQ: http://www.ukobd.co.uk/gstore/store/...?idProduct=123

It is very customizable. For DashXL™ support, we offer two software products - PCMSCAN™ and DashCommand™. PCMSCAN™ is a fully featured diagnostic scantool, with some full screen capabilities. DashCommand™ is probably what you would be interested in, and cheaper too. It is just the dashboard system, and offers a full screen mode. It also works very well in CarPC systems.
I'm not sure (I've never seen the Skyline dashboard) - our DashXL™ system shouldn't have a problem reproducing the look and feel you want. But if you could post up a picture or something, I could tell you for sure, or even help create an sample dashboard for you. Also, I would be interested in non-standarded gauges - as in, the kind shown in that Skyline GTR. They're not needles, they're just red things that change shape in a certain way depending on the value of the gauge. Can Dash XL do that?
We have a DashXL™ editor application that lets you create the dashboard and add and position new objects. It is a proprietary editor, and does not support flash, but you can add picture objects (as many as you like) to help represent the dashboard you're after. Also, by what mechanism is it customizable? Is it proprietary stuff? Or do we use Flash/multiple pics/etc.?

If there is some interest, perhaps I'll give it a go at creating a sample DashXL™ dashboard that replicates the picture shown earlier in this thread.....

I am sure there would be great interest in such a display. I have PCM, which I just purchaesed and have it currently running on a laptop while I purchase bits and pieces for a dedicated car pc.
I have mangaged to connect to the OBD11 port and got some instant readings, so I know it works. Problem is that the software is only recognising a few PIDs at the moment, so I need to do some research and work on it. I am guessing I will need to purchase the Dash Command software to set the displays up on the 7" screen?
It will be good to get it up and running with great graphics.
Im pretty sure the resolution changes depending on how many things you log.
