If you just want it so you can just display the gauges, then all you need is DashCommand. However, from what I understand (this is where I'm at now) you need to download the demo of PCMSCAN as well so you can identify the PIDs for your particular car, which you will need to tweak the gauges to work for your car.Originally Posted by WraithJ

Yea for the moment I only need to display guage, till my insurance comes down I wont be doing any serious modding, (a few filters and pipes here and there for the moment) so displaying them is more for personal interest. Are there any obd2 kits reckomended orwill any old chinese kit do?

Found a perfect solution to integrate RR with PCMSCAN

It's VERY easy to implement the GTR gauges. All I did was drop the gauge files into the DashCommand folder in Program Files and point the program to them. That's it! After that it's just a matter of tweaking the PID settings for your particular vehicle.

Anyone use this on an e46 M3? My understanding is that the some BMW's don't have much use of the OBDII jack in the car. I have a obd 2 scanner and it didn't read anything when i got a check engine light.
can someone recommend a good obd2 software to use with this as most of the links are broken in this thread.

I am not asmpbm, but it is very easy to change colors in DashCommand. I have changed mine to an orange to match my car dash and Road Runner / DFX software.
Use the Dash XL editor that comes with DashCommand. It is in the Tools option at the top of DashCommand once you have started the program. Make sure all the options are checked so that as you use the editor and click on a box to edit you can see what you will be changing. Tick marks and names and other gauge items can all be color changed.
