I also have a xcal2. I have it for my Cougar, I also bought the pro racer package for it. i was wondering the same thing about the compatiability. I am going to be looking at a inovative wideband for my car also. I am doing the research for a car-puter but mainly for the feedback from the car through the gauges and real time datalogging. The music and movies part of the puter will mainly be for shows.I have a tuner (programs ECU through OBD-ii) that I currently use to read OBD-ii data... It's an SCT X-calibrator2. Would this be compatible with DashCommand/DashXL, or whatever it is I need to get custom gauges? I have SCT LiveLink which can display some graphs and gauges, but the appearance is not customizable and it's ugly.
Also... after paying $400 for a tuner, I'm a little reluctant to spend another $100+ on a OBD-ii reader if my tuner can already do it...
So I went to the chicago auto show and got a Nissan brochure, with more pics of some of the features in the skyline gt-r, and its different screens. What kind of sensors would you need to replicate this? of course the gear position screen is not very helpful, but most of the other gauges are very nice, cause most cars don't have anything like it.

Some other GTR images I found. Apparently the interface was designed by the creators of Gran Turismo

Here is a video of it in action

This dash is insane
The DASHDAQ is awesome but the screen is only a 4" so that rules that out for me.
PPE, do you think you can knock out these other screens? I'm close to starting my digital dash project. I would like the main screen to look like the real gauges of the GTR and the other screens to look like the other ones.
Can I use images as backgrounds in DashXL or does everything have to be created with elements?
It would be easier if I could make everything in photoshop and then just do the animated bits in the DashXL editor.
wow, so aafter watching the video, it would be better for me to buy a skyline for the tech--there are sensors for every aspect of the vehicle--even pedal travel for gas and brake, shift economy/ what direction the front wheels are turning---that is crazy. but it would be awesome to do, anyone know of an input device for multiple potetiometers? and than a way to use the signal in a gauge program?
