    Skype For StreetDeck

    I was thinking this could be very cool feature when used with our array microphone and a wifi hot spot. Has anyone used the skype SDK?

    I've used it before. I'll look into making something. I've never made a digital mod b4 but I'll give it a shot tonight

    Ok. I need some basic DigitalMod help:

    Code:
    Dim oSkype

    Function Call_OnMouseClick(x, y)
    Set oUser = oSkype.User("echo123")
    Set oCall = oSkype.PlaceCall(oUser.Handle)
    End Function

    Function Module_OnFirstEnter()

     '//Set oSkype = CreateObject("Skype4COM.Skype", "Skype_")
     Set oSkype = CreateObject("Skype4COM.Skype")

    End Function

    Function Module_OnDestroy()
    Set oSkype = Nothing
    End Function
    2 Things. Firstly. Skype(the SDK) tells me to add the "Skype_" at the end of CreateObject. When I do this w/ streetdeck it fails to call the fucntion(Some error)
    Secondly. SD seems to never even try to access skype. When I click the button it just timesout(after a LONG time). What should happen at the very least is that Skype should give a big who-ha about access restrictions and ask me if I want to allow SD. This doesn't even seem to happen. I have the script down to bare essentials and it doesn't seem to work. Anybody want to help me? Maybe i'm simply missing a basic SD SDK function or such-Like. SD.ConnectToTheFingModule()

    That *should work* if skype is registered on your system, but in any case your not going to be able to recieve events yet without writing a second addin.

    We will be releasing a new COM addin structure for StreetDeck soon that will let you write an addin that steetdeck will load in whatever language you want and bypass the scripting engine and should make this project much easier.

    We need that new COM structure, we have skype, youtube, myspace plugins under development plus many more. Bypassing the scripting language will help us out a lot. Any news on the release?

    As far as I can tell you can use events just fine today... I haven't officially tried to use them but from what I could tell from my cursory look it should be doable. I think GOC even described how to do that in one of the DigiMod tutorials.
