    Couple of script questions

    1) Is it possible to determine the visibility of an overlay, like the cUserOverlay9?

    2) Is it possible to retrieve the current setting of certain toggles, specifically night mode?

    3) Is it possible for modules to share data with overlays. For instance, is it plausible to use a module to create a configuration for an overlay, and the overlay be able to read the persistent values from the module?

    Thanks!

Anyone?? I have several quick digitalmods that I want to finish off, but I really need these answers to do so! It is my understanding that there is no SDK documentation regarding the questions I asked, so I'm at the mercy of waiting for answer here

    Thanks!

I've not been a StreetDeck owner for very long, but from what I've seen, you'll pretty much have to wait for god_of_cpu ( or some other employee? ) to notice the thread and answer. Noone else seems to have the docs. There's a couple folks on here who've developed digitalmods and may be able to help though.

I'd guess that the answers to 1 and 2 were both yes, but I don't know any specifics. 3 should be possible too. If nothing else, you could create a COM object to pass the variables back and forth, but that seems a bit hackish.

Is god_of_cpu still alive? It seems like it has been weeks since any posts were answered in here by him. Considering he is the only SDK reference, it makes it a little hard to build nicer digital mods!

You can control other scripted overlays by using Module.GetScriptedOverlay, but there is no similar function yet for controlling system overlays.

You can retrieve the value of NightMode with the App.IsNightMode function

All the option setting / getting functions are global to the project so if you call Module.SetStringOption(1, "Test") in one script module and then Module.GetSTringOption(1) in another, it will return "Test". This is demonstrated in the GooglePOI digital mod as well as a few others.

Thanks for the answers. What I don't get about the option persistence is that Module doesn't seem to be visible in script for an overlay. I'd like to have a module that has some "setup" for an overlay and have it store, then have the overlay load the persistent settings. Since I can't see Module, how do I get access to it in the overlay script? I saw how to store in the examples, but none of the examples have overlays...

Nevermind I figured it out. Overlay has the GetXOption too and it appears that the options are global to the digital mod, so that does what I need.
