You will enjoy using Driveline as it just works, You don't need to be a programmer to use. Good support for the most common hardware and add-ons. SNO

Will weather not work without a GPS attached for location? I am setting up on my PC in the garage and the carpc on the bench, and can't get it up.

Also, what are the 'Locations' in the menu used for, and how do I change them. I seem to have Home listed with ClockWork's address, and the same for his Work.

OK, I think I was able to change the Locations with my addresses. Still working on weather. I do have an internet connection.

I am pretty sure you need a gps to have weather, once fuel prices is completed it can be based on zip/postal code or gps. This might be something Clockwork could do as well. Glad you have the work/home figuired out. SNO

OK, cool. I was trying to set the top location C as Home. Once I went in and edited the existing one it took.
What are those used for in the FE??

They are used as like favorites for directions. The directions icon if you click the pushpin top right it will pull-up what you have saved as your work/home/store/park whatever SNO

    Great! Thanks.

A tip for newbs....... when trying to populate the Home Folders in settings, the location you select will come up at the BOTTOM of the list, so scroll down to see it!

Also, I took out all the extra locations except the paths I wanted displayed and got what I was looking for. If I didn't do that all I got in the Video or Music when doing a playlist search was the C:/ location and I'd have to drill down from there.

I think after a bit of fiddling I am about ready to put it in the car and see what the GPS will bring to life.

Another quick question. I had tried Bluesoleil long ago and have a license. I uninstalled it due to some conflicts I had (I think it queered out Garmin PC IIRC) when their stack was installed. I want to try again with DL.

The question is which version should I use? Apparently I can upgrade to v 10, but don't want to if it isn't the one you guys are supporting.

    Thanks!
    Jim

Garmin pc works fine in Driveline, as for BS I would try the version you have first before upgrading as I have heard the upgrade is a nightmare with money being taken but no serial/key emailed. I am sure Clockwork will be able to tell you exactly what version works best with Driveline. SNO

    Thanks for the help SNO.

I loaded up BS V 8 and it seems to work, in that I can pair it with my carpc and receive and call out. I can play music from phone and do all the things I couldn't do last time. My phone is a HTC One x+ BTW. I may have had virtual port conflicts or something before, but since BS didn't support much of anything with my phone back then I just ditched it.

Yeah as far as BS is concerned, I will be happy to never give them another penny. Bad experience first time out that I won't forget quickly.

I seem to be working through things with your help. I really like the way things WORK with this FE so far.
