I was able to get a coupe of trips in the car with DL. I now have the first MAPS screen coming up instantly and the cursor follows my location. Looks good!
The TRAFFIC screen will come up sometimes with a map, but not exactly on location, and never displays traffic. I am going to clear all the Locations data and try a clean slate approach next since, like you say, it appears to be related to that somehow. Maybe I have some bad data stored.
I like this skin very much.
I have an issue with two embedded apps. One is my wideband O2 sensor display, and the other is Tuner Studio, the Megasquirt fuel injection controller software. What happens is that the O2 program will start and display embedded, then drops out to the desktop and isn't on display in the Driveline window after a random time. I have to minimize DL to see it. The Tuner Studio runs full screen over top of DL and doesn't embed.
Is this because of settings on the APPLICATIONS setup that I need to change? I know that Tuner Studio is written as an Adobe Flash app if it makes a difference. My car isn't ODB2, so to display engine info I need the Tuner Studio running. It would be nice to be able to start TS in DriveLine and toggle back and forth to it in DL if I want to take a look at it without having to minimize DL.
TunerStudio is not a Flash app. It is Java.

Okay, good that the basic Maps functionality is working now.
I can confirm that Traffic is not working. Very interesting. The URL i am using works in IE (and FireFox), but it's not working within DriveLine. Maybe they're trying to block embedded IE windows or something. Not sure. I try to bend some of Google's rules a bit, so we'll see if I can make it work again.
As for your embedded apps, if you chose to 'Leave app on Desktop', then DriveLine won't try to embed it into the DriveLine UI. Otherwise, it should. Some apps just don't embed, or don't embed well. If these are free apps or have a trial, I can download them and try to debug the situation. I've never tried embedding a Flash app before. Either way, I'll see if we can make them work at least a little better. If an app is embedding correctly, then drops out of DriveLine randomly, I might be able to put in a timer that checks for this sort of behavior.
Thanks for the info ClockWorK. I'll look at what I have set for the apps. It's good to know I wasn't just messing up trying to get Traffic! It's two additional clicks the way it is now, but having it on a button the way you do is a nice way to go.
Thanks again for the excellent support.
Okay, here's a test version:
This fixes Traffic by adding a registry entry. It adds DriveLine into some "Browser Emulation" table in the registry. Weird stuff that I need to research more.
This *should* also fix HD Radio leaking audio when it's muted.
I haven't tried it yet, but you rock for trying so quickly.

Fired up the test and took it for a spin.
All systems here are now a 'go'! Maps and Traffic are working perfectly, and so is the volume bleed issue. This FE is AWESOME!!!! What you do is pretty close to magic as far as I am concerned, ClockWorK.
Here is the link to Innovate Logworks software that is used to interface with the wideband O2 sensor. I just pull up a simple round gauge that reads realtime sensor AFR. I didn't install a standalone gauge in my car since I have the ability to call this display up on the touchscreen. http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/support.php
I honestly don't know how useful the Tunerstudio would be in a small window. There is a lot going on on it. I can play around with customization of the display of gauges to suit the area available if you see a way to implement it.
Having the wideband display in an imbedded window would be very desirable, however.
It's about time for me to begin work on that starter's guide to DriveLine.
I just want to mention that the volume on the mouse control is really, really nice. I have a hard-mounted touchpad with side scrolling that is PERFECT for this feature. I can reach down and slide a finger on the side of the pad to adjust volume so easily, I can't imagine a better way. As a bonus, when Traffic is in view (and the mouse pointer is on the embedded screen) the side scroll will increase or decrease the range on the map! I love it.
I may not bother to install the RM-X4S any time soon with things the way they are. I'm really, honestly pleased with my carpc for the first time.
Demo video that I did for the Fox Thunderbird forum that I frequent:
